Visiting St. Beatus Waterfall was a magical experience, reminiscent of Rivendell from the Lord of the Rings movie. The cascades of small waterfalls flowing gracefully down the mountainside created a breathtaking and serene atmosphere that felt like stepping into a fantasy world.
A significant highlight of the trip was the ease of access, as the waterfall is free to visit. However, I would highly recommend arriving earlier in the day due to the very limited parking available. The early start will also give you the advantage of enjoying the peaceful surroundings before it gets too crowded.
At the top of the waterfall, there's a charming restaurant where you can enjoy a meal with stunning views. Additionally, the museum about the waterfall offers intriguing insights into the natural and cultural history of the area.
Another must-see is the entrance to the St. Beatus-Höhlen, Swiss Caves, located near the top of the waterfall. The caves (for a fee) add an extra layer of adventure to your visit, with their impressive rock formations and subterranean beauty.
Overall, St. Beatus Waterfall is a must-visit for nature lovers and fantasy enthusiasts alike. Its natural beauty, combined with the added amenities, makes it a perfect day trip destination on...

Read moreVery nice caves - water falls. Initially it was very nice, they also allow dogs. However they also charge for them. Wasn't expecting that. We spent a bit of time walking through the caves which was very nice, however near the end of the caves is a fast moving waterfall which our dog found a little disturbing and we ending up carrying her down some steps, which when you have a large husky isn't good, so maybe a warning about this, but she appear fine. We also had a few children in there from some form of school trip, so it got a little tight at times, but it's still worth a look around and do read the signs, loads of interesting points. Finally the parking outside is a little restricted, we went on bikes, but you can park a little way...
