Read moreWe took cogwheel train from Wilderswil to Schynige Platte... it costs 64chf per person(without any discounts) for return journey. The train's ride is 50 min long at one side and takes us through breathtaking views of interlaken town along with both the lakes between which interlaken is situated. Important - You may ask for afternoon tickets and they cost 49 chf for return journey. Sit in old style train if you're fond of taking pictures because the windows give unhindered view in the old one.(see picture for reference) There is an option to buy half rate tickets using half rate pass, where you pay 32 chf for return journey(but I'm not sure where/how to buy it). You can convert your Eur to chf at train station's branch of Bank Eki. This way you can save some money than buying ticket in Eur.
In summary... you must must must take this ride on a sunny day... it'll be great investment(in experience...
Read moreAbsolutely superb. This is a must visit and walk. It's traditional swiss at its best. The train up is delightful and from the station there are numerous walks; we did a 2.5 mile amble, via Daube and Oberberghorn. Word of warning: the viewpoint at Oberberghorn is up a step ladder and you can also get a view from a suspended walkway! The rest of the walk is far less scary! The views of Brienzersee are magnificent. Alongside the swiss meadowland and herd of cows complete with cowbells - absolutely delightful. The restaurant is good - there's a voucher in the Jungfrau Passport which gets you an apple strudel and coffee for a discounted price. The Alpen Garten is good although to be honest the natural wild meadows are far better. We were also fortunate to be there when a trio of swiss played their Alpen Horns, and an individual in the Alpen Garten gave some great solos. Definitely...
