The initial walk on the tarmac path in the trees was quite testing, however, the gradient lessened as we came into open pasture land. There are numerous tracks and paths to choose from that are very well signposted. The views are spectacular. When you reach the top there's a coffee shop, restaurant, a miniature railway as well as green areas to allow you to take in the views. Pretty amazing vantage point of all of Bern and surrounding areas! There's a observation tower to climb and see even further or merely take a stroll along one of the many trails that cross this summit. Lots of picnic areas, firepits as well. Great for kids to run and play. We used a Bern visitors pass which Grant's you free access to all public transportation within Bern and a trip up the Gurten Funicular to this point! Beautiful...
