La Maison de la forêt — Attraction in Riddes

Adorable little "buvette" at the trailhead of a few hikes, including 'le sentier des sens' which is excellent for kids (all based on the 5 senses and learning about the forest). This cafe serves hot drinks (try the warm apple juice, perfect for a chilly day) and simple but delicious seasonal food. We had the soup and tart if the day, and apple crumble for dessert and it was all delicious. There's a little extra room to sit upstairs, with some activities for kids, and an exhibition of animals from the forest which is very well done.
