While it’s one of the most expensive countries to visit, with careful planning, one can get the most out of this vacation. I’ve been to Switzerland couple of times so I feel, this is the guide which will help you see the most beautiful landscapes of this country in short time! 𝐇𝐎𝐖 𝐓𝐎 𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐂𝐇 ✈️ If you are flying into the country, Zurich can be a great starting point. 🚂 One can explore the country by using the Swiss Travel Pass which is best for unlimited train travel. 🚗 If you are like me, Swiss travel on a roadtrip is heavenly! If you are in Zermatt and want to have a hiking program, Rifflesee is one of the best places for you. You can Either get the tele-cabins from Zermatt to the Riffleberg Station (Don’t forget to change the line in Furi-Station; otherwise the cabin you take in Zermatt goes directly to another station and you may get extra charges!).You have this option to buy a one-way ticket or two-way ticket. By buying a one-way ticket you have to hike all the way back (it is a 3-4 hours hike, which is not that easy). From Riffleberg Station there is a 20-30 minutes hike to Rifflesee. The lake is very very beautiful and you can have a great view of Matterhorn (one of the highest mounts in Alp). I recommend a photo from the lake with a reflection of Matterhorn in it 😇. In this area you may also have the chance to visit the most lovely and friendly animal in the world; Black Nose Sheep (Valais Blacknose) 😍😍 My recommendation is definitely to go and find the flock (and visit them 🥰🥰🥰 They are amazing! (They are usually in this area.) Just keep in mind that the Tele-Cabins are working till 18 during summer.

I took the train from Zermatt up to Riffelsee to do a photo safari as I heard that it was a great place to see the Matterhorn reflected in the lakes. Once there I began to drink in the breathtaking views all around me. I was surprised to encounter a large flock of Black-nosed sheep. They were so talkative and were such a delight to watch.

As I walk down the trails I came across the lakes there. Their still waters reflected the Matterhorn and the surrounding terrain like mirrors. It was a fabulous place for photography of the Alps and of several glaciers.

If you want together a better view of the Matterhorn than what you can see from down in Zermatt, then I would recommend visiting Riffelsee. It is a must see place to visit in...

Riffelsee (from Rotenboden, one station before Gornergrat) This time, we were lucky to see a perfect reflection of the Matterhorn in the lake—absolutely magical. We took a short but incredibly beautiful walk from Rotenboden station (one stop before Gornergrat) to Riffelsee, and continued toward Riffelberg station. At a certain point, we decided to turn back, simply because we wanted to experience Riffelsee once more. At the entrance to the lake, there’s a lovely alpine botanical section with high-altitude flowers—small but charming. Throughout the walk, we were constantly surrounded by stunning and diverse vistas: the ever-present Matterhorn, nearby glaciers, and distant mountain slopes with a slightly arid appearance....
