Easy way for young kids to spend their time. With young kids we mainly stayed inside the Troy building which is indoors and has a lot of arcade games and small rides. Rides had high requirements. A small number allowed adult to ride if child didn’t meet the height requirement. Most rides needed to be at least 90cm. But even then, your best is if you’re around 120-140cm then you can ride pretty much everything. They are generally strict with the height requirements. We saw many get turned away either being too tall or short.
Also for lunch. If you play to stay in the building. The first floor fast food restaurants - especially the one in the ship get very busy at lunch hour. We waited almost an hour to get our food. Many tourists with food vouchers go to these restaurants. If you don’t want the wait/crowd then go early, or late, or check the other cafes and restaurants in the building.
Our admission also included a Ferris wheel ride. So we went to that after the amusement park.
We went mid Dec and lines were not long. Especially in the morning. Longest line we waited was for a ride and the wait was maybe 10 minutes.
Definitely check the amusement park hours. Some days they close fairly early around 4pm. So you will need to plan accordingly. We chose a day where it closed around 8pm since we didn’t know if the kids would enjoy it or want to leave and come back. We got stamps on our hands when we left just in case we decided to return later.
It’s nice the amusement park is connected to the mall. After we were done with the amusement park, we walked the mall to go to the Ferris wheel and then had dinner at the 123 flea market plaza where there were a lot of...
Read moreSuperb performance!! I really thought of going in because of the air conditioner. But went out with respecting every single performer that day.
Feels like I am in my childhood again, watching magic shows and circus.
The show was super long btw, so it is not a short stop (about 40 mins)!
Another great thing is the roller coaster. Made me hold super tight. They gave a 'certificate' and a pin after completing it.
Should check out the VR theme park inside!! I tried the zombie hospital thingy and it was great. Still, my favorite is the duel!! I forgot the name but you can team up/ against your friend in it. Super cool! Went back immediately after we finished.
The best best thing is the water performance!! They did it at 15.30 that day. Make sure you do have change of clothes if you want to get wet.
I love it so much!! Everyone can watch the first half, it is outside so you can see it in front of the stage, near where the rollercoaster is.
They will shoo those who don't want to be soaked on the second half. Run!!! If you want to stay dry. Because when I say wet. It is completely drenched.
I wore raincoat because I didn't have any spare clothes despite that I am still wet. Completely ruined my shoes (they are actually waterproof but doesn't really matter if you are taking a bath in them). Mostly kids join, with water guns. But the performers are excited to see me, dancing around and enjoying the event with them.
It is truly great, I think by far the most fun theme...
Read moreI took my daughter (age 8) expecting to stay for half the day and ended up staying until evening. Mostly expected rides like swings and teacups, and a few less common like the pedal boats for younger kids (mine at at 127cm was just short enough to do many of the little kid rides but also tall enough for others). The junior coaster is jolty and VERY spinny, so maybe for slightly older. The other rides were good for her age. Some of the younger-kid rides took turns being open, alternating by the hour. There were very few guests for an amusement park, so that made sense. Bumper cars were closed for maintenance when we visited.
Many/most shows are performances and mostly language-agnostic (African Rhapsody, main acrobatics in the royal theater, juggling). The children's theater performance was a story, and entirely in Mandarin. Well performed, but we couldn't follow (I had expected to not follow any of the shows, so not a complaint).
We knew going in that food was ... not great. We did buy an ice cream there, thinking that would be safe, and can confirm that it was ... not great (we threw it away). The adjacent mall worked well for dinner, and we rode the ferris wheel after the main park closed. The ferris wheel is the only place we encountered a wait to...
