高雄瑞豐夜市 Kaohsiung Ruifeng Night Market
高雄之旅!Kaohsiung Tour! Whenever you go to Kaohsiung, Ruifeng Night Market is definitely one of the must-go night markets. Extremely well managed, as is the shape of the night markets are like lines of squares, with lanes of shops and stalls, making it extremely easy to navigate around. It can get extremely crowded, but ain't that the beauty of a night market? With so many stalls in the Ruifeng Night Market, here are some of my personal top 5 recommendations of must-try foods. Of course, there's still plenty of others that you should try too when you're there.
• 章魚爆爆 (Lane 3) - Ordered 泰式酸辣 (Thai Stule Hot and Sour Sauce). Really tasty takoyaki, the taste is strong, that's what makes it really good. You can taste both squids and scallops covered with the sauce and bonito flakes. The service is friendly as well, makes it 5 stars! There are few other flavors to choose and try at @takoyaki_boom !
• 彭氏臭豆腐 (Lane 7) - Small stall but packed with awesome stinky tofu smell. Menu is extremely simple - 3 types of bowl (small, medium, and large) and 3 types of spiciness (小辣 light spiciness, 中辣 medium spiciness, 大辣 high spiciness) to choose from. The smell and the spiciness is right on the spot. The bowl is packed with lots of good stuff too - stinky tofu, duck blood, vegetables and all of them are covered with chili oil.
• 明洞姥姥韓式炒麵 (Lane 1) - Korean style fried noodle restaurant. Great choice for any seasons, the boss will get your order ready in extremely quick, so don't worry about the queue. Ordered「炒韓式泡麵」.The noodle texture is chewy, and the spiciness is rightly combined with the pork meat and cabbages.
• 文鮮奶麻糬 (Lane 2) - The soft and glutinous fresh milk mochi is made with pure fresh milk. There are five flavors of milk, matcha, cocoa, peanut, and sesame. Perfect for after-meal or even before-meal, haha. The chewy texture shows how soft and yet delicious the mochi is.
• 鴨香寶烤鴨夾餅/ 永泰烤鴨夾餅 (Lane 3) - The awesomess of the duck meat wrapped with thinned sliced cucumber in a bun, is just too good. Crunchy, yet, tender meat blended perfectly with the other ingredients. With 4 flavor tastes to be chose from, each flavors packs with great aroma, and definitely a choice to make whenever you come to this...
Read moreIf night markets are the beating heart of Taiwan, then Ruifeng Night Market in Kaohsiung is its adrenaline rush. A dazzling chaos of sizzling grills, flashing signs, and hungry chatter — this night market is a flavor-packed playground for the soul.
The moment I stepped into the crowd, the scent of fried chicken and grilled sugar hit me like a warm, greasy hug — and I knew I was home.
First stop: the legendary fried chicken cutlet. Still crackling from the fryer, it came nestled in a grease-kissed paper pouch, golden and absurdly crispy. One bite and I was hooked. The crust had that perfect shatter, and inside, the chicken was juicy, steaming, and full of peppery, umami goodness. It’s the kind of snack that makes your hands greasy and your soul happy.
But it wasn’t just about the savory hits. The real surprise came in dessert form — a cup of rolled ice cream, bright and cheerful, topped with whipped cream, rainbow sprinkles, and a perfectly toasted marshmallow. It was creamy, playful, and slightly nostalgic — a dessert that didn’t take itself too seriously but still delivered on flavor. Every spoonful was a contrast of textures: cool rolls, fluffy cream, chewy ‘mallow. Street food turned into edible joy.
Ruifeng isn’t just about what you eat — it’s how it makes you feel. It’s the laughter of locals squeezing past each other, the anticipation as food sizzles before your eyes, and that late-night energy where anything...
