There's a lot of food choices here in Bali Old Street. The donut lines particularly have the most number of people in the queue. However, most food can be purchased in other night markets.

To get here, you need to cross via ferry. Ticket price is 68 NTD round trip.

If you're visiting with a group, you can rent a tandem bike for the experience. Someone suggested this to easily get to the instagrammable set ups but the tandem bike takes significantly more work and effort than walking. Also quite expensive but the price can be haggled.

When ordering food, Google Lens+Translate is your best friend. I usually just translate on my phone, point the item on their menu and hope for the best 😂

Here I ate Lou Rou Fan/Braised Pork Rice for 35NTD. They also sell stinky tofu for 50NTD. Just didn't buy coz the people I was with weren't loving the smell as much as I did.

Didn't really spend a lot of time here because the ferry lines going back were so long and we had other places to go to. We ended up buying food, ate in on the line just to save time.

Conclusion: You can skip this when you...

Bali Old Street is indeed an underrated gem in Taiwan. Unlike the more popular Tamsui, this area offers a more laid-back vibe, especially during the weekdays when many of the stalls remain closed. However, come the weekend, the street comes alive with local vendors offering everything from snacks to unique souvenirs.

Take a boat from Tamsui old street to Bali old street. It’s a nice and pleasant experience, however expect some waiting time for the boat (approx 15 to 25 minutes) and take note of the last boat timing.

While Tamsui and the Fisherman’s Wharf tend to draw larger crowds, Bali Old Street provides a quieter, more relaxed atmosphere. If you’re into outdoor activities, cycling is a great way to explore the area. A bike ride to watch the sunset along the river and heading towards Guandu Bridge offers stunning views and a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle.

Find a nice cafe and chill. It’s a perfect spot for those looking to experience a less touristy side of Bali while still enjoying scenic views and...
