Ton Up Cafe — Restaurant in New Taipei

• In reply to your reply, we weren't taking up two tables, we moved 'your' water pitcher and tissues there, so we could work. The issue was the fact that our laptop got shoved by your staff to put those things back on our table, you didn't ask us to move it or ask us if we wanted the water pitcher and tissues back, which we didn't want, you just shoved our things out of the way. You didn't communicate anything to us, just shoved our 'expensive' equipment around. Then made it seem like we were inconveniencing you! You even pulled the table further away from us! So passive aggressive and just terrible attitude! *

Absolutely terrible service today! Waitress was rude and irritating! We wanted eat and then work a bit all afternoon, which we've done before, at your cafe. We usually keep ordering drinks and snacks. However, today, we just wanted to leave. There were several tables free and we put the water and tissues that were on our table, onto the table next to us because we wanted the space to work. The waitress came over, just pushed one of our laptops out of the way and dumped the tissues and water pitcher back on the table, didn't ask us if we wanted those things. Then tried to seat somebody next to us, despite there being a lot of free tables, but they didn't want to sit there. She then proceeded to pull the table away from us so that we couldn't move anything back onto the table. So rude! Your 'paying' customers should be treated better! I don't think we'll be coming...

My first impression of the place was quite impressive, great and fragrant coffee and my beef risotto was delicious. However, we had to wait for AN HOUR for a pizza that my boyfriend ordered... when we were trying to get a staff's attention to ask if they had forgotten the pizza the waitress who CLEARLY saw us trying to get her attention dismissed us and walked away...So I had to get up and walk over to her instead to ask for our missing item. (We've never waited for a pizza this long even at very busy artisanal pizza places that we've been to...should be within 20-30mins max. I tried to understand they were having a very busy lunch hour coming from food and beverage business background myself, but the staffs were not very attentive especially when there is a service charge) And the pizza was very mediocre, if we had to wait for an hour and the food is amazing, we wouldn't have minded. Great start, but a very stale end...

Been here on two occasions so it’s a combined review. Both times I went I was impressed by the food on offer. The fish and chips is good but the fish is a small portion. The steak brunch isn’t bad and the burgers are good!

Some dishes are part of a set menu which include drinks soup salad and if you sit outside upstairs it’s a really nice view.

The menu has a nice variety of options to choose from and it’s child friendly with a little toy area for the children. We also ordered the raspberry chocolate cake which was great but small.

Room for improvement: Don’t serve the food at different times. My food came after 15mins, my partners food came after 30mins which makes it awkward.

Offer card payment. This restaurant is cash only which is inconvenient especially during the pandemic.

Out of all the restaurants in Bali, I think this is one of the best! It also has live music on...
