Having been captivated by the charm and beauty of Tamsui Fisherman's Wharf during my first visit, I couldn't resist the temptation to return and delve deeper into its mystique. Eager to experience more of its scenic views, delectable seafood, and vibrant atmosphere, my second visit to this enchanting destination surpassed all expectations.

Tamsui Fisherman's Wharf is a visual feast for the senses, and my second visit allowed me to fully appreciate its mesmerizing scenery. As I strolled along the wooden waterfront promenade, I marveled at the panoramic views of the Tamsui River merging with the vast expanse of the deep blue sea. The iconic Lover's Bridge, illuminated in a kaleidoscope of colors, added a touch of romance to the already picturesque landscape. The history of Fisherman's Wharf can be traced back to the Qing Dynasty, when it was an important fishing port in Tamsui. With the development of the freshwater area, the fishing industry gradually declined, and the pier was gradually transformed into a tourist destination. In 2001, the local government rezoned it as Fisherman's Wharf and added modern facilities such as Lover's Bridge, Observation Deck and Pier Plaza, making it a famous tourist attraction in Tamsui.

There are many hotels near Fisherman's Wharf, the most representative of which is the Fullon Hotel Tamsui. This hotel offers rooms with sea views. People can enjoy the scenery of Tamsui River up close. You can choose to take the light rail at the MRT Mangrove Station to "Tsui Fisherman's Wharf Station", which takes about 30 minutes, or you can choose to take the "Red 26" at the MRT Tamsui Station and get off at the Fisherman's Wharf Station and walk for...

The lovers bridge and the pier are very nice, clean and inspire the feeling of vacation. That being said, when we visited the Wharf, it was quite empty and lifeless. We couldn't seem to find any open shops and hardly any people working in the harbour. All you meet is a couple of (local or foreign) tourists that visit the Wharf - like us.

Alternatively, Tamsui Old Street and the public park near the MRT station on the riverfront make for a much more lively destination that is equally as relaxing with a lot more activities / restaurants to...
