Pros:||1. Location - wonderful view of the sea, yachts, Lover's Bridge, etc and it's the only hotel along Fisherman's wharf. Tamsui MRT subway was at least another 10 minutes cab ride to this hotel, but apparently that's changing soon as a new subway station near this hotel is opening soon.||||2. Fullon hotel - a locally well-known luxury hotel brand with overall good quality rooms, staff, kids' club, etc. Not many restaurants in the hotel but the dim sum restaurant was pretty good with a celebrated chef, albeit with slightly above average prices.||||3. Rooms - family rooms with two king beds are spacious and comfortable and the above-mentioned great view of the wharf. Recommended for families with younger children who prefer to stay in the same room instead of in adjoining rooms.||||Cons:||1. Location - about 20 minutes subway plus 10 minutes cab ride from Tamsui station. Its rather out of the way location also means limited dining or shopping options. While waiting for our room to be ready, we finished lunch and exploring the hotel's kids'club and its rather vacant mall all in an hour. Not much to see. Boring.||||2. Buffet breakfast - limited variety and rather low quality food for 3 days. Zero live stations. We saw the lack of guests (economy downturn?) and understood the chef was trying to limit wastage... but we had to beg the lady head chef to let us have a freshly cooked egg for our young kids instead of insisting we get one of the stale sunny-side-ups. And one of the cooks helped himself to the food while guests were still around. Not professional.||||3. Shuttle bus service to Tamsui station - again, an issue to do with trying to conserve resources during the lull season - I can't believe we had to negotiate for more then 10 minutes with the booking lady on the time we wanted the shuttle bus, a supposedly half-hourly service available to all hotel guests. She simply didn't want to give us the timing requested because she was trying to pool us with other guests on a bus ONE HOUR LATER. No remorse nor apologies. Her overall attitude made me feel like negotiating at a night market stall and I can't believe it's from a staff at a...
Read moreReally bad experience staying here. They did not refill supplies including toilet paper, tissue and shampoo/body soup. We called them to refill toilet paper and they even took back the old toilet paper :) I don’t understand. Can’t we use two rolls of toilet paper? Each time when we called for refill, we need to wait for 1 hour or more. All of these should be refilled before clients getting in. They did not reorg TV after clients left. Our TV was not working until we called them to fix. And realized the previous clients removed HDMI and Cables. I can understand different people use TV differently, but making sure everything is organized and working is basic right? Also, TV was really hard to use and broke two times. We called them to fix at night and the other morning. :) The cable was loosen while we didn’t touch it during night. We called for extra bed sheets days before and still, they didn’t give us extra supplies before we came. Last but not least, they had weird schedule for dinner + hot spring. They called us to reschedule our dinner time from 17:00 to 19:30. We accepted it. After finishing dinner, it was already 21:30. When we went to hot spring, even though it’s still before 22:00, they said hot spring is closing at 22:00 so we can’t get in. Then why do you provide 19:30 dinner timing that you can’t support? Plus, if you don’t want people to get in 30 mins before closing, you should mention that in your website.
All of the incidents happen independently will be minor issue for us. But facing all of them at the same time is not a good experience at all. We are not asking anything return but hopefully all of these can be heard and improved. We were considering coming next year for great fireworks view but we need to rethink...
Read moreFor reference: booked room Family Room A|2 King beds/balcony/seaview/bathtub/shower/smart toilet/soundproof||Lovely resort. We took the taxi (costs 180 ntd). They managed to checked us in early. Gentleman who checked us in was very kind and warm. ||Pros:|1. Location- right on the Fisherman's Wharf |2. Facilities- don't miss the sauna area. They claimed that it's a hot spring. My skin did feel better (not dry) right after using their sauna facility. This is one of the many reasons why I gave them 4 stars.|3. Room- we booked the Family Room A. Wow- super comfortable bed and pillow. Balcony facing ocean. Shower, regular tub, and smart toilet. Super quite. They probably have soundproofed structure. |4. People. All the staff we met were very accommodating. ||Cons:|1. Location- it is far from the Tamsui MRT station. They do provide free shuttle but you need to reserve it. We did a last minute booking so I didn't get to call them. ||2. Facilities. Let me focus on the sauna since that's the main selling point for me (other than the view/location). As much as I enjoyed it, there are areas that in need of major repair/maintenance. This must have been an awesome facility before. I don't know what happened, but the jacuzzi outside is not in operation. The locker area has just a fan. May be it's because we checked in June. Steam room doesn't steam up.||3. Room: lack of charging ports. ||4. People. No cons here. They are all great. ||Overall an awesome experience. FYI- everything opens at 7:00 AM. If you're an early person like me, then you better stock up on water/snacks since there's nothing open earlier than 7 am....
