The Stele of Taiwan's Geographical Center — Attraction in Puli Township

This is the center of Taiwan. Nice but a bit small, sometimes it's not that clean as I expected. But I still like the atmosphere and view on the small hill behind it. It's great to come around and spend some time with family and climb up the hill. Cozy to be on the top and there see the view all over Puli. Like it....

Not well maintained. Old and dirty. So many loud and rude tourists. A group of mainlanders shoved their way into my photo that I waited 10 minutes to take, and then shouted at me when I politely asked them (in Mandarin) to move and wait their turn. They then blocked the main road while they snapped photos...

臺灣地理中心碑位在南投縣埔里鎮，立於景色秀麗的虎頭山山麓，是一座造型特殊的石碑，在民國六十八年重建部份區域，已故蔣經國先生題上「山清水秀」四字，因此又稱為「山清水秀碑」。在光復後經過重新測量，實際上的地理中心應位在虎頭山頂海拔555公尺處的三角點附近，民國四十二年時將地理中心點移至正確點。臺灣地理中心碑是一處台灣地理具有特殊紀念價值的景點，被稱為「臺灣之心」，也是許多民眾到埔里鎮旅遊必到之處。 The Geographic Center of Taiwan is located in Puli Town, Nantou County.
