Carton King Creative Park — Attraction in Taichung

All in all a nice idea, but unfortunately it's a bit of a tourist trap and there are a lot of better things to do in Taichung, so don't waste your time and money for it.

First of all the 200$ for entrance include 3x 50$ vouchers for things that are overpriced. If you want to ride the train you can't use a voucher, only for the cafeteria, the souvenir shop and something else.

It's tiny, so you can spend maybe 30 minutes inside before it gets boring for everybody.

Getting there by bus takes forever.

Most of the stuff on display isn't very rich in details or in a bad shape (the gear of the Airbus Aircraft was broken). Cleanliness is ok.

It is a friendly recreational and artistic place, for children, families and curious people, offering a wide range of themes, illustrated by objects, monuments or characters made by cardboard. It's rather small, so you can visit it in 20 to 30 minutes. But on the other hand, there is a lot to see, so it is possible to easily spend 2-3 hours. For us, the impression of the first minutes was a bit unexciting, but little by little, we liked the creations' details and the secret corners, and therefore, in the end, we enjoyed this park very much. Tickets cost 200 TWD for adults and children over 100 cm tall. But it includes a 100 TWD voucher for a snack, drink or souvenir...

Personally I would rate it a 4 but my children said it was super fun and requested for this to be upgraded to 5 stars. While the place was not super big, the various play items remade from cardboard boxes and steel drain covers was ingenious.

There were miniature cardboard replicas of different iconic landmarks around the world. The slides and carnival play items provided plenty of fun for the kiddos. For 50 NTD, one can also sit the carton train which sits up to 10 pax.
