STAY WITH MOUNTAIN — Restaurant in Taichung

Overpriced mediocrity, will never visit again and never recommend to anyone.

What happened: We ordered the TWD250 "Banana choco ice cream pancake" and it was served "skin on"!!! Yes, you see it right, the banana and its skin was chopped and put side by side in the same dish, and the skin looks unwashed! I've never ever seen this in a restaurant of this class! And it should have never happened! Very underwhelming service, though 5% service charge still enforced! A) The cashier didn't read out our orders and pressed us for payment with very unpleasant tones! B) Very slow in preparing our table despite the room was almost half empty and most waiters/waitresses were wandering around aimlessly. C) We were told to refill the jar of water ourselves, though we think this is exactly what we want to avoid with the 5% service charge! The scenery was very underwhelming, I myself is a photographer and I didn't even want to bring out my camera after surveying the outdoor viewing platform. There was nothing special to see!

Will never visit again and for anyone considering a visit: you'd better spend your money somewhere...

The place is hanging on the mountain side with a nice view of the city, we left before having a chance to taste the food or drinks. They make people wait on the parking for hours before inviting them to go up, no drinks, no snacks or a waiting bar or lounge to enjoy an old whiskey while waiting. Guess you have to book before hand, that we didn’t, and it’s fair but then we decided to go up instead of waiting on the parking, and we walked around, really nice place, rare to see that in Taiwan, it has this Thailand chill rooftop vide, in a more classy way. We’ve seen a lot of free table with nice atmosphere in different parts, cozy, casual, inside, outside, a lobby where you can wait?! A chill casual area with high bar tables where you can wait ?! Not comfy but good for a drink while waiting, on the last level, then an hour later finally our number, and they walked us to the high bar tables that you go last when their is no other option beside the bar itself, in the corner of the rooftop next to the toilet … bonne appetit … those garden/pub furniture were completely FREE all the time we were waiting, we gently ask if we can be sitted, (not “standing”) but we got denied. Guess they try to get clout by making people wait for NOTHING, or they short on staff maybe (not my problem) we would have wait longer, if we had drinks or snacks, for a “table” where you “sit”. But we figured that if we want to be this comfortable, at the bar table corner/toilet we better go Mac Donald. Then we went … no we went unlimited oyster...

The view is by far the best thing about this restaurant. The menu is quite limited, but the meals we had were good (mushroom risotto and spicy pork with some sort of noodles or spaghetti). I give the service three stars because firstly, out food didn't come out at the same time so I had to sit there staring at my risotto whilst waiting for the second main dish to come out, which eventually happened 10 minutes later. By that time my food was getting cold. Restaurants really should learn how to time their cooking so the main dishes all come out together. Secondly, one of the staff behind the bar/food prep area, although with a mask on, was sneezing constantly throughout our dinner. He clearly wasn't well enough to be working. And finally, every ten minutes all the staff would shout "STAY WITH MOUNTAIN" which was quite annoying and not peaceful at all. We added a soup (corn, disappointing) and a chocolate and orange tarte (delicious) to our meal. I would probably go back, it was quite good value, especially if you can sit outside and see the view, but I think the staff need more training to match the elegance of...
