Must visit place for all adults and kids as long as one isnt too afraid of the creepy-crawlies. These creatures are beautiful in their own right and this place showcases it well. The entry fee for non-Thai of 200 baht per adult and 150 per child came as a slight shock as I hadnt found that info beforehand and felt a bit expensive but changed my mind once I found myself enjoying the place as much as my 9-yr old did. Very friendly staff, eager to help with info ( all speaking good english) and assisting/supervising the handling of many. The butterfly collection was impressive, the tarantulas were scary and the centipedes werent really my favourite. But the stick insects, leaf insects, giant lizard were all awesome to interact with. The koi fish at the entrance were a lovely sight as well. Clean toilets. Visited this place along with a visit elephant poo poo paper. There are too many other attractions in the vicinity- monkey world, crocodile, snake farm, orchid farms, tiger kingdom, zipline, ATV etc but this place is certainly...
Read moreIt is such a disappointment to see that they breed butterflies only to use their wings as earrings 😖 How awful. You would hope that the person in charge of this who understands that all species are threatened due to pesticides, plastic pollution and factories would not exacerbate the issue further by killing them for their wings????! How disgraceful!
Furthermore, iguanas are kept in small cages bored out of their skull.
They sell small little plastic boxes to the public so that kids can catch insects and “encase” them for life.
Animals and insects belong inthe WILD they are not TOYS for humans, they ALSO feel:
Happiness Sadness Lonely Heartbreak Loss Boredom.
Who gave these people the right to remove them from their natural habitat of FREEDOM, movement and foliage to caged loneliness. If you thought it was bad being confined during covid, why force this on other sentient beings? King Nr 9 would be saddened and disappointed...
Read moreThis is a fantastic place to visit especially for children. Really well presented, clean and tidy. A small museum followed by live exhibits including a beautiful butterfly garden. The zoo is really interactive with lots of things to do and animals to touch. The staff are really friendly and knowledgeable. All the insects and animals are incredibly well cared for. There is also a lovely little gift shop with very reasonable prices they also sell snacks and drinks. There is a coffee shop, and nice clean toilets . There is a car park and you can park on the street if that is full. The zoo is also quite accessible for the disabled , maybe not to UK standards but we managed very well with my mum in her wheelchair and the staff were brilliant with my brother...
