Do not go , this is not an enjoyable experience we visited Jan 2025 with my 4 year old On arrival -we arrived to a very rude lady who looked like the manager she had us waiting a long time and when you spoke to her regarding the wait she would completely blank you . One horrible rude lady the staff where on pins with her , she has no idea of providing a good service once they have your money there they really don’t care . We brought the trip from a proper agent at Bangtou beach I’m confused how they sell this as an experience ! The elephants look so sad they where treated appalling and the rider our guide kept hitting the elephant on the head with a hook to make it go - all the tour guides did the elephants look tired and not well kept the guide sat on his phone the whole time we where on the elephants back it was shocking and a very very poor experience for us we where more bothered about the welfare of the elephants somebody needs to inspect this place as it is really poor! the whole experience doesn’t deserve a star rating but I’ll add my review to warn others away and for someone to raise the red flags on this one ! Pure animal cruelty here - written by...
Read moreI cannot recommend it. We were really looking forward to seeing the animals but couldn't enjoy it.
The animals didn't seem very motivated to carry the tourists uphill. The elephant guides (mahouts) used a stick with a sharp metal hook to steer the animals and hit them with it from time to time. i grew up on a farm, so I know things are not always ideal and pretty. Maybe I'm ignorant of the tradition of keeping elephants, maybe it's been done this way for centuries and the punishment is necessary, but it seemed unnecessarily brutal to me.
For a brief moment, one elephant showed a little playfulness with a leaf, but this was quickly stopped by its elephant handler by kicking on the side of his skull.
We had to wait for a while and saw that the elephants were not given a break. We saw the place where the animals were chained up at night. They were untidy, dirty, unroofed and looked desolate. None of the elephants had tusks. Overall there did not seem to be much care for...
Read moreAvoid this place because of angry manager with poor service and false advertising. We booked six elephants in advance for 11 person, and manager wanted to give us five elphants. Which means three person per elephant (this may constitute abuse on the elephant). We show the manager our booking and she ignored us. We waited for half hour at the place and accepted only five elephants under her pressure. Then she asked us to wait and we waited for a hour with no follow up. I asked her for an update and she said we decline her initial offer and will have to wait for another hour. We decided to leave this place as a lost cause. We have three families here spending almost two hours waiting to be retaliated upon declining the manager’s initial offer for five elephants when we...
