Lonely Beach — Attraction in Ko Chang

Before Covid, Lonely Beach was a big party town full of backpackers and topless girls. Now, only couples and families come and the town is quieter. To walk from the actual beach where the few resorts are, into the small town on the southern end of Lonely Beach with the shops and restaurants, you have to walk 5-10 minutes on the main road, which is pitch black at night. Before Covid, you could walk on the beach all the way to the town but now the southern end of Lonely Beach is full of rocks, a stone wall, and vegetation that blocks your path. The area with shops also has several bars and mini-clubs that were once full of partying backpackers, but now are empty. Hostels are either empty or permanently closed. Each night the empty bars play loud music hoping for the tourists that will never come.

Lonely Beach is a habitat of all back-packers and their friends in Koh Chang. This is the most youthful beach. All extraordinary personalities and all young people who want to socialize, hang out and have fun here. There are many bars on the beach, a lot of noise and fun. The vibe here is lively.

There are almost no difference between tides. I don’t like that here sea entrance is full of stones in one side, as you can see in the photo. But on the other side of the beach, there’s White sand and a very pleasant entry into water.

The beach is located quite far from the pier. Around 40 mins-1 hour ride by a motorbike. The main infrastructure is located in a small village that can be reached on foot or by car.

Marked as one of my most favorite place for watching a sunset. Not to include that the beach here is sandy and nice, surrounded by nice bars and restaurants like Nature beach resort, Mimo bar or Life's a beach (these are my absolute favorite place to have food/drinks or something to smoke plus paddle boards and kayaks to rent if you want some adventure!)

Also this area has small massage shops that also affordable (compare to the fact that it's situated at the beach so you can enjoy the beach, the sunset and such during your massage time!)

I'd really recommended this beach for sure (around Nature beach resort area til the end)
