We found this place when trying to get to Lonely Beach by car. We just popped in for a quick drink but it was such a great place, we ended up staying a couple of hours.
We ordered some young coconut, which was cold, sweet and extremely refreshing.
The owner was really lovely (as were all the staff). He was happy to tell us the best way of getting to the beach, happy to let us park our car in the shade outside his bar, and was happy to tell us about the local food. He informed us that the waters around Koh Chang are very clean and unpolluted, unlike much of the rest of Thailand. This gives the seafood a sweet, natural taste, and he suggested a local delicacy; raw squid. He checked whether they had any that were fresh enough. They did (it's pictured), we had it and it was really tasty, just as promised. I even ate the eyeballs! (You have to be brave to eat that bit. My Thai partner couldn't bring herself to do it).
The bar has a really cool vibe, with chilled music and great food. There's wooden decking overlooking the sea, with either bean bags or tables and chairs to get comfortable on. Everything on the menu is also very well priced.
It's not just one of the best beach bars in Koh Chang, it's one of the best in Thailand. Very highly recommended. If you're looking to visit Lonely Beach, definitely stop by...
Read moreSuper yummy food, super friendly personnel, super pleasant to sit by the sea feeling the breeze.
The highlight of the dishes was the spicy baracuda stir fry - the fish is so fresh, the meat firm and yummy. Cocunt milk soup with chicken, chicken Pad Kaprao (stir fried minced chicken with basil…) were also really good.
Just be careful - if they ask you how spicy you want the food, they mean Thai levels. So very spicy means that for a Thai person it will be very spicy. So don’t feel “like a tourist” if you ask for medium or low spicy level, most Thais will also not take the high spicy level. I took high and liked it, my wife (who is Indian) wished she took medium:). If you don’t like spicy food, tell them “no spicy” for Thai dishes.
The Western food was also nice - fish&chips and Carbonara we took were yummy.
Coffee and mango sticky rice were also really nice (although I really like little roasted mung beans they put on sometimes, and here it was...

The food here is consistently high quality. Everything we ordered was above average. Spoke to the owner and you can tell he cares about making the place as good as it can be, constantly improving.
The portions are very generous. In fact surprisingly so. And the prices are incredibly reasonable. Seriously good value.
Even the chicken fried rice, a very common dish that could have been ordinary, was much better than you will find on average. Have lived in Thailand for many years and this is excellent Thai food.
We had the chicken fried rice, the fried larp (spicy salad), the chicken massaman curry, and the steamed fish with lime. All of it...
