After all these years in Thailand I had never visited Hua Hin and have not been to Cha-Am since 2001. So we checked out both. This about Cha-Am Beach so let me stay focused. The stretch of beach is quite nice and serviced by a seafront beach road with numerous hotels, restaurants and little shopping nooks and crannies here and there. The hotels here are reasonably priced as this is mostly a place where Thai people holiday or escape for the weekend from BKK. Ya there may be some things that tourists may find odd like the Chair positioning as mentioned by a fellow reviewer, but hold on... this beach is really about being a Thai holiday spot not a tourist destination. I personally thought the little seaside community was quite nice, clean and totally ok for a one or two day visit.
Not 'loads to do' on this stretch of beach but then some may totally groove on the concept of being away from tourist towns and just chilling and hanging...

The only highlight is you can buy and put fireworks in the sky by the beach. The peddler is around the beach on this landmark. But prices is more ex than Hua Hin Night Market
