Review of THE BEACH, not the resort. +POSITIVES+ Very very clean beach which is great for tourists! Basically zero plastics, but see negatives!! Pretty clear water, emerald green / azur blue depending on depth (clear when tide is right). Visibility around 2-3m normally. -NEGATIVES- BIG ONE is that the tourism (likely) has killed all the corals, menaning there is basically no sea life when when snorkeling even close to cliffs or far out from beach. Reason is likely all the speed boats that just drop their anchors straight down, there are NO anchor points like in the far south west of Thailand were sea life is more preserved and they do have short points at the islands which are mandatory to use! quite a few speed boats arrive daily, we counted around 1-2/hour depending on time of day (sometime guests, sometimes people without luggage)
It's a disgrace that tourists and sea life cant co-exist and that the marine protection program don't deal with the situation. When arriving you have to pay 200bath each 5day since it's a national park area and this makes me even more disturbed as they only seem to focus on the beaches to get more tourists (destroying oceans by even more by speedboats) but don't give a damn about the sea life. So in my opinion the fee is just B.S. as its just collected to gather more tourists (i guess it goes to keeping beach clean daily? Or maybe just in...
Read moreBest beach on the island, even with high tide you can find that there is still enough sand, amazing water, super white sand, there are some shadows provided by the trees and it is very clean since the resort staff removes the leaves every morning. You need to access through the resort, you will find a panel informing it is mandatory to but food or drinks but we didn’t and nobody said anything. If you go with the shared taxis that connect the island there were some waiting for pick ups to go back (at least when we were there). If you want to switch later to Wai beach it is a feasible 10min...
Read moreIt is a beautiful beach with white sand and crystal clear water...... BUT it is such a shame that the beach is full of rubbish. It is a big turn off to see plastic straws, bottles and bags floating everywhere. Obviously the resort there doesn’t take a responsibility??
Pretty good amount of coral behind the left side of the rock. Lots of fish and some soft corals.
Please, whoever visits the beach, contribute to pick up some rubbish that this beautiful...
