We went to the highest point where the Chinese temple was located. The shuttle bus driver told us he would pick us up within 30-40 minutes from the same spot where we were dropped off. However, we waited nearly 90 minutes without any sign of him. Eventually, we decided to walk back to the entrance. Just as we were nearing it, a different driver, who appeared to be younger, stopped and picked us up. When we asked him why he hadn’t picked us up as promised, he claimed he had come to the spot where we were dropped off three times but hadn’t seen us. We had a heated argument with him; he was very rude and even threatened us. After the confrontation, we finally received a refund and left immediately because we feared for our lives. The driver was not service-minded and should have been more polite to visitors. We would not visit the park again, and (I gave it only one star because of the poor service of the shuttle bus driver.)

In morning and evening a lot of people come to jog, but the roads here are not closed to traffic. You can jog on the rubberised track at the base of the park which is flat throughout. Or you can run up the hill and back down again which is a real challenge. On this hill you will also see the nature trail signposted which gets you off the road for 1.2km. At the top of the hill there are 2 free water refill points and the water is chilled, a really great initiative to provide refreshment and cut plastic waste, well done hat yai municipality.
Also if you want to run on a real trail in the forest, download the gpx files from RunningConnect website - google KHOHONG HATYAI ULTRA TRAIL 2022. This race ran through the park and up into the hills and many of the ribbons are still up. You will need to use an app where you can follow the courses e.g. backcountry navigator or garmin...
