The Amphitheatre of El Jem was truly spectacular, a magnificent and remarkably well-preserved piece of history for all to admire. However, it was disappointing to witness children climbing in restricted areas, treating the site as if it were an extension of their playground. It's a shame the kids have little to no respect for history plus surprising that no staff/security around to stop them clambering all over the 1800 year old site. Additionally, mopeds were parked in some of the recesses, as though the amphitheatre were a parking garage, an area of the grounds resembled a rubbish dump...shame really. An absolute gem to discover! The amphitheatre is remarkably well preserved, allowing you to wander freely through its grand upper stands, hidden underground passages, and breathtaking viewpoints from every angle. With entrance fees ranging from just 2 to 8 dinars, it’s an incredible bargain for such a rich piece of history. A must-visit if you’re...

Well worth a visit! Some reviewers are confusing the amphitheatre with the nearby coliseum. They are two different structures! So...
