So glad we decided to have a beach day here. Very close to the cruise ship so you simply walk off the ship, through the shop and around to the left to get to the beach. There are lots of free sun beds here so no need to spend extra money if you don’t want. As you walk into the free sun bed area, you will probably be asked by guys standing nearby if you’d like to go to their part of the beach to pay for their beds and parasols but we politely declined and they left us alone. The water is a good temperature for swimming and so clear! Luckily, when we realised how nice the water was and how many different fish there were, we were able to hire snorkel gear from the hire shop ($10). If you snorkel out to the ropes you will hopefully spot the sunken cannon. Water shoes are a good idea but not essential. It was a bit rocky in places.

The good… the water is beautiful and crystal clear! Some sea shells but not many. You can find some coral and a few people found conch shells 🐚 if you snorkel. 🤿 very relaxing on the beach once everyone was leaving. Hang back and take a few family photos once everyone is off the beach. You can capture some beautiful photos. I was told the island is 7 miles total and 5k people living on it. Just fyi. The bad… the people! People everywhere. No privacy anywhere and if you look behind the tourist area, it’s very trashy. The islanders seem sick of it and everything is really overpriced. One pineapple drink on the beach was $25 each. One person to eat at Margaritaville was $50. Remember to bring cash! Cards are not taken. They do allow cards at the shops about 20 shops on the main strip behind the pool. Over crowded.

You have to walk through the cruise port to get to the beach. They have public lounges for free or you can pay one of the many guys $40 for two chairs and an umbrella. They have blue clam shell seating option for $65. Thee were two shops in port so I don’t know if the price varies. There are many drink stands. The price seems the same but it is not. If you choose one close to the shops, there are extra fees/tax of about $2.50 per drink. We bought the first $6 beer and payed $8.50. Then we walked a few hundred feet and saved $5 on two beers! Well with the trek. Get some steps and ave some bucks.
