#Al_Maqtaa_Fort A Historical Landmark in Abu Dhabi Al Maqtaa Fort, located near Al Maqtaa Bridge in Abu Dhabi, is a historic fort that dates back over 200 years. Built to guard against invaders, the fort once served as a strategic watchtower overlooking the waterways leading to the mainland. Made of stone, coral, and sand, it showcases traditional Emirati architecture. Today, the fort stands as a symbol of Abu Dhabi’s rich heritage and offers a glimpse into the region’s past. While visitors cannot enter the fort, its picturesque setting and historical significance make it a popular spot for sightseeing and photography.

Al Maqta Fort A historical site in Abu Dhabi dating back two hundred years. Drive towards the bridge to Maqta, just before the bridge take a right. Follow the road. Bumpy road ahead. Currently have construction work in the area. You can get a closer look from the outside. Not open to the public. Will be turned into a Police Museum. It’s a nice place away for the city and tall buildings. Beautiful sunset in the evening between the Maqta Bridge and Sheikh Zayed Bridge. A great place for tourists to see the old and the new Abu Dhabi.

I recently visited Al Maqtaa Museum and really enjoyed the experience. The museum gives a great insight into Abu Dhabi’s history and heritage, with displays that highlight traditional life, crafts, and the city’s transformation over time. The location near Al Maqtaa Fort makes it even more special, and the traditional architecture adds to the charm.

The staff are welcoming and knowledgeable, which made the visit even better. Overall, it’s a nice spot to connect with the culture and history of the UAE, and I’d recommend it for anyone who wants to see the heritage side...
