This is such a little gem to explore. Not overly large yet not so small that you feel overcrowded, tucked away so it feels like you are way out in the country. We have lived in the area since 2012 yet only discovered this was there a couple of weekends ago! Split into 3 main areas, woods for your 4 legged friends to find plenty of trees with a pool (not for swimming), a large grassland that has plenty of gorgeous daffodils out at the moment and across the road is a lake (I think) that you can walk beside up to the conservation area, watch the ducks go by and the ever changing vista of the water and reflections. There is a great folk tail here that you can read about on the well appointed and informative information board as well as the yew tree and why it's an important tree for the history of the area. I googled what 1 looked like while here and the kids happily looked for it and found it! We wasted a couple of hours here as we were in no rush to leave and as I have a disability that can make walking difficult we sat now and then on the benches and soaked up the sights. Was slightly spoilt by some teenagers smoking something illegal as they fished, however they didn't bother us and we didn't bother them so all was good. Well worth the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLovely short walk (beginning and end is sloping, so may be bit challenging for elderly or those using walking aids). Good info boards about local wildlife. Lots of young trees, meadow and wetland plants. Can take dogs, but please clean up and take home any poos! Could combine with the short walk by the duck pond almost opposite, but if feeding the ducks please use proper duck food, NOT bread or similar, to avoid killing the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreA delightful small park, with a shallow steam, with wooden bridges over, wriggling through. A pleasant stroll with plenty of resting places. Our young grandchildren loved splashing about in the stream playing with our dog. It's a small park but you can spend a pleasant half hour there enjoying the wild flowers. Don't miss the grotto just across the road too!...
