I moved my travel days as I really wanted to visit the heritage centre and it is mainly open at weekends. I was particularly keen to see the WW2 items discovered on the different Farm Lane digs in recent years. I think I spent a couple of hours happily looking at items and reading the descriptions etc. It was also interesting to read about the foundry and chair factory too. I chatted with two volunteers while I was there and both were lovely ladies. Highly recommend a visit here to see all the historic items on display - not just for Band of Brothers fans like myself, but general history fans too. It may be small, but there's plenty of local history to see here.

Fun place, crammed full of the history of Aldbourne. Go see the bells made locally, a fab timeline and Dr Who display in the small but perfectly formed museum. Ask about the carillon, a Victorian organ with a drum and bells that chime. They let me put the penny on that made it work. Village is very nice, lovely village pond with gold fish.

Visited as part of our Research into the history of English Handbells. Volunteer staff were very welcoming and enthusiastic. A visit here can be combined with lunch in the adjacent pub and a walk around this beautiful village.
