We walk here regularly. Once you get away from the stretch along the Warrington road it is peaceful and everchanging through the seasons. Swans and ducks in abundance ....and the pleasure of watching their young grow over the months, as one walks the canal. Anderton boat lift is well worth watching when in action. Read moreReally nice area with a variety of walking routes (most of which are firm under foot). Well worth crossing the canal into Marbury park and stopping off at the mobile refreshments trailer (their Marbury blend tea is very nice and they do a variety of lunch options and sweet treats). There are public toilets next to the trailer, should you need them. Crossing back over the canal, and following the tow path back to the boat lift car park, results in around a 4.5 mile circular route, but there are opportunities to extend it further, should you want to.
Really popular with dog walkers...
