Fontwell fireworks 2017
WHAT A JOKE!!!!!!!!! I will be taking today up with trading standards and the directors. Where do I start..... firstly we came from the direction of Bury Hill which was clear, upon approaching the first of the two roundabouts which lead to the race track we hit traffic, not just any traffic, standstill traffic!!! we were only 400/500 metres from the entrance and it took us one hour & forty minutes to park the car. when we approached the gate, some women told us to keep left and follow the cars down to the very bottom of the car park, as she said that I noticed LOADS of parking to the right of me, I asked why can't we go there and she firstly ignored me, then I said it a few more times to be told "it's flooded, no one can park there" EVERYTHING WAS BLOODY FLOODED!!!! I then said well I'm in a 4x4 its fine, she then replied: " No sorry because if I let you park there, everyone will want the same treatment" !!!!!!! at this point, we had twenty minutes until the fireworks started so we just park down the very bottom of the car park. Once we walked up towards the entrance, every other car had given up and parked in all the space I saw available when I came in....PISSED!!!
Next chapter. We had purchased the last private box tickets as we promised our children we would take them and was under the impression we could get tickets on the door... ( that worked didn't it Fontwell?!) We got our tickets from the box office and were told on the phone we would have someone show us to our own private box, did we get anyone?! NO, WE DIDN'T!!!!! It took us 10 minutes to find out where to go, anyway moving forward. We finally got to our private box which cost £226 (including tickets) We all thought " well we are finally here, never mind let's just enjoy the fireworks.
3.....2.....1..... "MUSIC STARTS"
WE CANT SEE THE FIREWORKS!!!!!!!!! There is a low profile roof that goes out from the top of the boxes and over 50/60% of the seats. We missed nearly every single firework because it was exploding out of eyesight due to the low profile roof!!
Pissed off and just wanting to get home, we finally got to the car and was then stuck in more standstill traffic trying to get out!!! there were no wardens at the bottom of the car park to direct traffic.
FOR YOU WHEN YOU READ THIS FONTWELL...
WE WILL BE GETTING A FULL REFUND. YOU COULD NOT A PISSED THIS UP ANYMORE IF YOU TRIED. YOU SOLD US A PREMIUM TICKET AND COULDNT EVEN SEE THE FIREWORKS, YOU NEED TO GET RID OF YOUR WARDENS/ TRAIN THEM CORRECTLY FOR THE JOB.

Read moreWe have been attending Ladies Night in August for many years (minus during the pandemic). We travel from Somerset and go with friends who live adjacent to the course. We always go to the Premier Restaurant. Last Thursday was an unrecognisable experience compared to when we first started coming. No cold white wine available. Who wants to drink warm white wine?! Basic catering and hospitality necessities. And then when we pointed this out nobody seemingly thought it might be a good idea to chill some bottles. Our next two bottles were room temperature also. However my husband’s soup was cold but should have been hot. By the time it was replaced I had finished my starter. One bread roll - no chance of being offered more. We asked if there were any biscuits available with our coffee and we’re given a plate of cream crackers. I can clearly remember how I was made to feel special on the first few times I came. We all go to great lengths to dress up for such a special occasion but wasn’t made to feel special last Thursday - just a number and an income. And when our bill arrived we had been charged for 4 bottles of wine instead of 3. And for a cider that we’d been told was not available as the pipes hadn’t been cleaned. The waiting staff did their best considering they appear to be working with incompetent management. Huge disappointment. Especially when you think about how much it...
