The Causeway Coastal route is the north coast section of the Antrim Coast Road - one of the best drives in the world. To see it at it's best allow plenty of time and stop frequently. Portaneevy viewpoint, between Ballycastle and Ballintoy has superb views of Rathlin Island, Islay and the Mull of Kintyre as well as Sheep Island and the Rope bridge at Carrick-a- rede. Don't miss Ballintoy harbour, which in addition to its Game of Thrones fame is a great place for walking to White Park Bay and to see some of the unique geology of the coast. Dunseverick Harbour is well hidden but a fine example of what was until recently a working North Coast fishing harbour. The Giants Causeway is next - if you want to approach it from a different direction and avoid the crowds and parking costs of the main entrance, walk from Dunseverick Castle and take in the impressive cliffs at the east end of the Causeway. After Portballintrae comes Dunluce Castle, the Whiterocks beach and Portrush. Read moreYou can pay for your parking at the giants causeway visitors centre which costs £10 per car and that is all day parking but there is a tearoom bar toilets and gift shop in the visitors centre there is a shuttle bus that can take wheelchair users buggies with babies and mobility scooters down to the colums there is the green trial for wheelchair buggies and scooter user's to take all the other trials are used by able bodied people plus you can park your car up at dunluce Castle for free if you don't mind a bit of a walk to the giants causeway and then walk to the colums and trials for free then you can drive the causeway coastal route with the most beautiful views ever we went from portrush to ballycastle and back then on the weekend heading home we took the causeway coastal route from portrush to ballycastle then from ballycastle all the way back to Belfast there is lots of little towns and beaches you can stop of at all along the route and the views...
