A woodland and park reclaimed from the previous canal system. A section of which is available for fishing. Still retains some of the original structures that once took the canal over the valley. Using the path adjacent to the Aldi store, which, by the way, has parking for a few cars, it is only a 10 minute walk to the lake. Read more❤️ Lovely walk, clean and quiet. There is a fishing pond for those who fish, lots of little paths through woodland areas. Great place for a stroll, very scenic to say its in Barnsley town centre. Enjoyable for dog walkers, there are paths for when its wet, but gets muddy off the beacon track if you dont mind muddy feet.
