Catch Fish and Chips Takeaway — Restaurant in Barnsley

Very very over priced, small portions and called ‘large’. My gluten free chips were so anaemic they was pure white! Only just cooked and they looked so bad i refused to even eat them, took them back for a refund. The other chips (not specifically gluten free) looked fine. But the others had belly ache and had a upset tummy afterwards. Deffo not going here again. Il stick with keelings, very good prices (half the price then at this place) and amazing food there.

Updated to add comment, i didnt go to the 5 star chippy yesterday, and i deffo didnt even attempt to eat one chip from yours, i stated the others eat your chips and had belly troubles,not myself. Also the chipshop i usually go to was shut yesterday and thats why i originally came to your shop so please dont try to tarnish someones reputation. You said two different reasonings for the chips being extremely white (just cooked) new oil and also the potatoes you use, if thats so why do the none gluten free chips look fine? And Also theres no excuse for them literally being just cooked, beef dripping does not make them look that way. They was simply not cooked long enough. The issue here wasnt any possible cross contamination or gluten issue because i never ate them so i wouldnt and couldnt comment on that, it was the absolute state the chips were and i refuse to put anything in my body that was like that. Just eat never delivered our meal. I rang them 1½ hours after it should have been delivered. Apparently the shop doesnt have anything to do with the drivers and dont know where the order is going to. The bloke i spoke to was very apologetic and offered to cook more food for us but we had to pick it up ourselves. Hubby went and picked the order up. "We shouldve done that in the first place".
