Not as good as it's made out to be on the website. Visited over the Easter weekend with my family of 6. We have children ranging in ages from 10 to baby and the only good part is the petting session, however this is poorly managed with very small animals loose in a pen getting trodden on by children adults and pushchairs. Tortoises and guinea pigs were left on the floor with at least 30 people piled in. Children were grabbing and chasing the animals, the rabbits and guinea pigs were really unhappy and trying to get away, many parents not supervising their kids while they screamed and banged cages. The health and safety is really good in terms of fencing and paths and the place is fully secure so toddlers can roam free. The way in and out is a single track with a blind bend and fast road so you end up having to reverse all the way back to the farm to let people come in, it needs a marshal at the entrance to keep it fair and stop accidents. The no picnic policy doesn't allow you to take any food or drink, not even on the grass by the car park or on site at all so very expensive if your family need to eat while you are there. The queue to get tickets is the same queue for food with very slow service, we almost missed the petting session because the food queue was nearly out the door. Soft play is restricted to under 9 years only so if you've got older primary school children they will have to sit and watch younger siblings have fun. The whole farm only had around 45 visible animals instead of 200. The barn owls cage is tiny and no room to spread their wings. Only one alpaca baby will eat the food, one cow and two sheep, all other animals avoid you and are far away. Even though we walked slowly we got round in half an hour, another half an hour to hold the animals so an hour max. There's a couple of swings and a slide to play on but again only for very young children. My 9 year old was bored with nothing to do. The staff are really nice and friendly it's just a shame it's such a small place with 1/4 of what was originally listed. They also have so many different charges. One fee to get in, another for petting session, another for animal feed. I wouldn't re visit. We've been to many of these places over the last decade and there are much better places. After reading some other reviews and the managers replies I wouldn't of given my money to someone with such a sarcastic and...

So who's up for wasting their time money and fuel?

Visited yesterday during Easter bank holiday as my wife had said she had heard about it. We decided to pay this farm a visit. We have taken our children to many farms such as mini meadows hoar farm park and ash end. Thought it would be nice to try a new place as we are fairly new to Leicestershire.

Unfortunately my wife was driving today otherwise I wouldn't have drove any further than the passing point on the single lane access! My first question was 'where are these animals then?' I mean your greeted by pen after pen after pen of just... Well grass! Not a major selling point I'm afraid. Anyway we proceed.

So we have parked in the yard. What Is basically a free for all in terms of parking. You get out of your car and you are greeted with no picnics no picnics no picnics. I'm presuming you would like me to eat at your establishment? We will return to this one in a bit it's a charmer.

So we need to get tickets. God knows where from. There's a play area and a cafe I presume we go there? No signs to identify where to go. Common sense prevails today! Though because it's doing tickets and food it takes soo long that we almost miss the start of the main even the petting session. Probably the only bit worth going to. This again was a free for all. No organisation we didn't no there was a queue to enter. Ended up just joining in. None of the staff have full control of the situation. People almost just stamping on the animals.

Then after this session we go for a walk around to see if the good animals are hiding round the trail. Nope. A few sheep some peacocks 3 alpacas 2 cows.

If this park was preparing animals to board Noah's ark we would be screwed!

Oh back to the no picnics thing. They would like you to buy their overpriced Aldi mamia baby food.

I would have gone to get my money back but my wife felt sorry for the few animals there and said they probably need the money.

Best part of the day was driving back...

Great for the kids my boys love feeding the animals and then having a play either on the outside park or in the soft play in the weather is rubbish. Food is good to Unfortunately I have had to re access my review while it is a good day out I have just tried to book my sons 2nd birthday party here but I didn't like the food options that they gave you with most of the guests being under 2 many of the children wouldn't eat a sandwich so I asked if there was anything they could so in regards to a buffet and they said no, so I am not willing to pay for food that most of the children won't eat, and where I am having to pay for a additional 2 places that won't be filled due to there minimum and maximum requirements you would think they would be more flexible, I also found out when enquiring that you would have set time limits in eat activity now this may be good for children over 5 but not for my 2year old who is not going to listen to someone talking about animals he just wants to feed them, and then to be told he can only spend 1 hour playing on the soft play when the they say so. Moral is go for the day or morning/afternoon but just don't...

Nice place, with a range of farm animals to see and feed. It's the first time I have seen a wallaby! The kids enjoyed running around in their wellies and feeding the animals. We ate there too, and the food was just okay, they didn't stick to the pricing of the menu which was very annoying. My daughter's food was disappointing, she ordered chicken nuggets and chips and literally got 4 chips! They have a small indoor play area which is very overpriced for what it is. The people there are nice but there aren't enough staff, food took ages and ordering was long as the lady taking orders was also clearing tables and serving food. They don't allow you take take your own food which is frustrating and even go so far as to tell you that you'll be asked to leave the farm. Overall we enjoyed it but there were just a few small things that let it down. Despite those we would probably go again but not to eat.

We had a most enjoyable time with our granddaughters. The animals are great entertainment for the children especially when they are being fed. The facilities are very good and clean. The staff are courteous and friendly and are always tidying up inside and out. The cafe was very good the food is freshly prepared and tasty. There is a good choice for adults and especially for children. The prices are reasonable £20 for a good lunch for 2 adults and 2 children all drinks included.

The soft play area was ideal for young children 0 - 6 years. (Adults are encouraged to access the play equipment to supervise children) We also walked around feeding the farm animals. There is an easily accessible route to follow on a partially gravelled path. The animals were well catered for in their enclosures, although some were uninterested in being fed. The goats, donkeys, pigs and sheep were all keen on the food provided £1 per cup.
