This was once a regular childhood day out to the beach and was brilliant but now I can honestly say when I took my 4 kids here it was completely different to how I remember it, the beach was not clean at all this sea was filthy as you can see from my photo and the walk down to the sea was awful we got capped in sinking sand and mud which sticks to you even when you try and wash it off, and there was young adults loitering about playing explicit loud music smoking illegal substance (which I believe is now the norm for most) I could sort of understand if older teens were to behave like this but not adults! This is not how I remember this place at all. We did have a nice ish fish and chips from the fish bar right next to the beach although the chips weren’t great overall it was an ok lunch. We did spend some time in the arcades but when it came to wanting to change up £notes as the machines weren’t working the worker told us that the cashier both was only open at weekends so that saved a few quid I suppose. The tickets the kids did win amounted to not a lot of value and the same worker bluntly said that it was an effort for him to exchange them in the arcade shop as he was to hit and didn’t really want to come back into the arcades to provide this service but he reluctantly did anyway. Overall I wouldn’t rate this place anymore unless your a younger adult/teenager just wanting to hang out and get wasted and your not worried about the cleanliness of your...

Leysdown-on-Sea arcades offer a nostalgic and thrilling experience for visitors of all ages, with a delightful blend of classic and modern arcade games. Nestled along the picturesque coastline, these arcades provide a perfect seaside escape for families and friends looking to have some fun. From retro pinball machines to state-of-the-art video games, there's something for everyone to enjoy. The atmosphere is lively and inviting, with the sound of bells and whistles filling the air as players try their luck on various attractions.

One standout feature of Leysdown-on-Sea arcades is the 18+ section, which adds an extra layer of excitement for adult visitors. Here, guests can test their skills and try their luck on a range of gaming machines, including slots and other casino-style games. It's worth mentioning that my experience in the 18+ section was particularly memorable, as we took a chance on a machine and ended up winning £60 after putting in just £12. This unexpected windfall truly made our day and added an extra thrill to our arcade adventure.

Overall, Leysdown-on-Sea arcades offer a fantastic day out for anyone seeking a dose of fun and entertainment by the sea. With its diverse selection of games, welcoming atmosphere, and the chance for unexpected surprises like our big win, it's easy to see why these arcades are a beloved destination for locals and...

A beautiful stretch of coastline, and an excellent resource for pebbles, shells and fossils.

Sand consists of shingle, shells and pebbles. The tide goes out a long long way, watch out for quicksand like areas when the tide is out.

We had a great time collecting shells, exploring the coastline, and wondering how this area ended up so rich with remains of abundant marine life.

There are masses of turbines out to sea but they're far enough out that they only impact marine life, I bet there's been a large number of beached whales on the beaches of Kent.

The tide moves very very fast, be aware as it should be easy to get caught out, likewise if you're into bathing, be careful.

Would I visit again? Most definitely I'll be back, and in the meantime, we have some beautiful momentos found...

Great place for family, but the locals do not welcome visitors. We had a family day out and collected oysters on the beach. We complied with all the beach rules but the locals still called the police without understanding and took videos of our kids. They claimed that they saw us before and those oysters were for Chinese restaurant. It was totally a slander because it was the first time for us to be there. They even said foul languages to us and asked hilarious questions to make us feel bad when waiting for the police. Although the police proved our innocence, the locals had ruined our day. We understand their hatred on illegal cocklers but it is not acceptable to generalise all visitors as bad people, especially to Asian. What a group of uncivilised people!

I went to the beach on the morning of Christmas day, we were mostly alone with a few dog walkers going by and a number parents with their children. Interestingly most of the pathways down to the beach, so we devided to climb over the gate only later to find a pathway down. We enjoyed pur time there, despite it being a little somewhat chilly. My daughters loved finding shells and weird and wonderful looking stones. After a while we decided to return to pur holiday home as the girls felt a bit cold.
