This is not your average Indian restaurant and not what I expected on the Island.

It's a good size, comfortable seats and nicely spaced tables. Along with the lighting, cutlery, table cloths, plates and serving dishes, they create a quality ambience.

The menu is surprisingly short, but this quite a refreshing change when many Indian restaurants offer dozens of dishes.

It felt to me as if they've made a conscious choice of quality of quantity in choosing what dishes to offer.

The poppadoms were in the curly sections style and four delicious pickles. We also had the canapés, tasty little bites.

For mains, I had the chilli paneer - one of the best Indian vegetarian dishes I've ever eaten. It was rich, thick and wonderful.

My family coming with me both had different chicken dishes and similarly raved about them.

We had a size portion of tarka daal, again one of the best I've had - three perfect consistency and flavour.

We also had the warm gulab jamun, small but served in impressive dishes and, actually, exactly the right size.

First visit but not the last. Food was delicious cooked and presented perfectly. All staff was friendly and welcoming. Nice touch to have your coats taken for you n put away. Good selection of wines and cocktails and good value for money. Leysdown needed a good restaurant and now they have one. I recommend anyone to try this dining experience and will return regularly now.. So kept my promise & made this the regular place to go for an exquisite meal. You are made to feel so welcome that everyone feels like a friend. Huge compliments to the chefs who fill us with gorgeous looking and tasting food.
