We are national trust members This was an occassion when the house was open Plenty to see The volunteers were pleasant ,helpful and knew what they were talking about regarding the history of the families and the house There are plenty of rooms to see but be aware that it is let out during the year as a self catering holiday home wow as holiday cottages go The kitchen is up to date appliance wise so don't expect copper pans jelly moulds and an open fire to roast a pig on Outside the gardens are lovely full of interest they were full of snowdrops hellebore and cyclamen when we visited Outside buildings are interesting Wheelchair ramps have been put over steps etc and a lift in the cider house provides access to the upper floor so the dvd can be watched There are a lot of cobbled and brick floored areas outside with the old drainage channels still in place care needs to be taken this was explained to us Picnic tables are provided outside and the small cafe is very pleasant the toilets are clean and baby changing facilities are provided There are nice walks outside and good carparks We had a very...

As locals, we regularly visit Gadolphin Hill, and park vans in the associated car parks. On one particular day, we arrived just after dinner, but paid for an all day stay on the car park at the ticket machine, and made the tickets clearly visible. Two vans, so two all day tickets (as stated, 'allowed to stay until dusk').

But yet, at around 17:10, two female National Trust employees/volunteers drove into the car park, and parked up at the side of us, engine running, and proceeded to power trip, asking, but in a condescending manner, "you know you are not allowed to stay here overnight don't you!?", - what made this even more pathetic, was the fact that we clearly had purchased car park tickets, for all day, and for both vans, and there were several other occupied vehicles in and around the same car park, which they had to drive past to get to us,... and yet, they never said a word to anyone else?, clearly discrimination, because we had camper vans. Anyway, be aware, these people can be floating about, and they do sometimes tend to get a bit silly, and incoherently...

Took my grandchildren to Godolphin on a beautifully sunny and reasonably warm weekend day. Got to the site just after opening time so the car park wasn't busy at all. My grandchildren know their way around very well because it is one of their favourite places to visit. The walk-in is lovely; through tree- lined pathway with a haze of bluebells under the canopies. This is not a manicured site but gives the appearance of being managed well. The children love the activity barn where they coloured in pictures of bluebells. They were also keen to show us the cow in the milking parlour and how yo milk it. Their all time favourite is of course the mud kitchen. How disappointed they were to discover that it had all dried up due to a few days of dry, sunny weather. The children are five and three years old! A lovely place with many opportunities to walk on several footpaths of varying lengths. Beautiful countryside with a wealth of birdsong....

In many ways a historical hidden gem. Conservation has taken place on many of the estates farm buildings, with some reasonable interpretation provided. The gardens are not what may be called neat and tidy, but they are kept under control, historically they may well have been very formal, much is left to nature, in part to reduce maintenance costs I would presume. Sections are accessible to wheelchair uses, but many paths are not I would imagine particularly easy to negotiate. The small cafe offers a good range of refreshments. The main reason for my four stars has to be Godolphin Hill, when the summit is reached there are spectacular views on a clear day of both the north and south coast, which photos do not do justice to. Access to the top is on foot, which may not be suitable for those with mobility issues.

Wow, what a hidden gem. Probably not one of the busiest National Trust properties as it is quite a way down Cornwall, however it is beautiful. Came here a few years ago and since then they have done a lot of work on the buildings. It has walks around the gardens and a trail to the top of Godolphin Hill which has great views. The cider house has children's activities in the holidays to try and this week they had croquet, badminton and archery too. It has a small cafe which is in the piggery. Lovely nibbles and drinks but not a huge menu and in the picnic area they have picnic tables for wheelchairs. People with mobility issues are pretty well catered for her. The gardens are accessible with ramps over the steps and the xider hiuse has a wheelchair lift Can't wait to come back.

I really enjoyed walking around the house and climbing Godolphin hill, each room in the house has an A4 page with information on it, which is just enough to provide a flavour of the house and it's history. At the top of Godolphin hill (on a clear day) you can see both of the coast lines, sadly it was cloudy the day I was there. Having said that the hill is a fairly gentle walk, it's steady and not too steep. Sadly, I had a bad experience in the coffee room, where I found one member of staff to be very rude, all because in sat down at a table before she had time to clear it (the cafe was very busy and had a quewe at the till). Which is why I have given this place 3 stars
