Bristol's only survivng Roman Villa!
That will never cease to be cool.
Not many places where you can peer into an interesting period of our past slap bang in the middle of a housing estate!
I also like the fact that this stands testament to preseving culture over profit with there having been a fight by all means to not build houses here once discovered - a very Bristolian fight and outcome!
That said, it feels like a bit of a challenge to just "visit" this place. It's behind closed doors and so you need to plan in advance and be in season to get closer access and in particular to the mosaic floors.

I understood that some of it was inside a building to protect it and that you need to collect the key from the council or the museum at the top of Park Street if you want to get inside. I hadn't realised that there would be a high fence all around the outside area too and that this would also be locked up.
