Nice and peaceful with plenty of different paths and trails to take, both on foot or bike. Pay on exit car parking with summer overflow when needed, however as is the norm right across torbay council controled areas, DO NOT expect any concessions with regards to disabled or blue badge parking. Dogs are welcomed all year round at berryhead and there is even a special enclosed field to exercise your pooch/cat/ferret ( I have seen all sorts being exercised hear ) in if you wish. but a lot of owners letting their dogs off the lead in public areas without having full and proper control over them with the shouted excuse " oh don't worry he won't bite" or " he just wants to say hello" . Plenty for the bird watchers with a purpose built viewing hide near the cafe, also family of seals have there home close by so can be spotted ofter as well as the chance for dolphins and occasionally possibly a whale. Interesting old battlements and ruins as well, the whole area of berry head has history and caters for lots of events from the historic to children's events throughout the year. If you don't mind a walk and a steep hill climb to get back, then the old quarry area below the fort/ cafe offers decent fishing into deep water all year round and the water area is also used for outdoor adventure sports and scuba diving to a stop off/ rest point for kayaks. Disabled passes can be purchased to bypass the parking area and get passed the bollard, so you can drive to either the cafe or as most with the passes do, to enable you to drive all the way down to the fishing area both day and night and pass owners also do not need to worry about the parking...

Great place for a quick picnic or a day long visit, with plenty of great views, old castles, a lighthouse and cafe.

The whole reserve has a lot to see and offer, with two separate castle ruins, which feature old cannons pointing out of the battlements, a cafe that serves a decent selection of snacks and hot drinks, and a fantastic viewpoint at the end of the headland, right by the lighthouse. As well as this, there are several picnic areas, one of which is right at the entrance, next to a large open field. Further along, there is also an old quarry, with a few nice places to fish.

Downsides are that parking is a bit expensive, the roads to get there can be tricky, and there are very few toilets. Otherwise, a great nature reserve and good place for a day out. Also very good for stargazing at night, as there is very little...

Amazing place. My partner and I live in the area from few years now but we have never been in here. The place is calm, huge and breathtaking. There is a look up point of all the Bay (Torbay) really spectacular. It is ideal for whoever want to do hiking. There is a little coffee and lots space for dogs. We left the car close by the residential houses and walk to Berry Head but there is parking close by the place. We have a long walk and it took us half hour each way but I recon you can reach the place quicker then half hour. On the way there were plenty of birds: wood pigeon, robin, pheasant, magple, crow.. etc Same of these birds were happy to come close to us as we were passing by. This place could be ideal if you looking for same peace, calm and of...

Beautiful bit of Devon usually the coastal path hikers see, but it worth visiting to see the history behind such a English historical place and landscape, there are plenty of walks that you can do no matter the weather as its wonderful place all year round, there's a fairly big carpark so a couple of quid for a few hours wondering or just to visit the cafe that's open most times there. There is also a toilet situated in the carpark thats free to use. A short walk to brixham town centre takes roughly 20 mins. The view from Berry point is spectacular on a clear day and sometimes you can see across the bay seeing Weymouth. Wide open spaces for the children and seeing the castle ruins is a must. Have a lovely day there even if its just for a picnic.
