The park has had good flood defences put in, which make the park more interesting. Now lockdown is over, the fields are in use with the footballers again. There are tennis courts open and playgrounds for young & older children. One can walk down to the river - but not fit or safe to go into (not recommended for safety reasons anyway with a danger of drowning). It is a nice park. It is near the very old centre of Radcliffe, with the medieval Manor and 12th century church to walk round.

Pleasant walk plenty to see with hidden gems. Busy well thought out play area for little people. Wide areas of playing fields for football, tennis courts and a exercise area with equipment. Ducks paddled with their young in clean clear water and hidden entrances to a forest /glade adventure for the explorer. Enjoyed the artwork but wish the fountain could be brought back to life.

We've been using this park for nearly 5 years and in that time it has gone down hill. The toilets were locked up a few years back, never been reopened. Now they've started on the "flood defences", which so far has involved cutting down lots of mature trees and doing very little else. This used to be a lovely park, now parts of it resemble a wasteland.

It's local and now there's a built up hill that having collie does him and me a favour, but the culvert there absolutely stinks at time's, it wants a clear out or something dog jumped in Couple of weeks ago and it was like he'd been in oil , it was just sludge but every now and then it absolutely stinks so whilst they paid thousands to sort the flood defence even after they sorted that out supposedly , the rains came yet again and flooding from the culvert came up and over so I'd be thinking not a lot is changing not in the long run ,not for the hard working men and women who worked to make the change as it is now , in fact it's down to them Whilst they where there as I had a 5 month old pup who took off whilst walking him and they told me which direction he had gone I was worried that he would get to the main road , when I get to the car park my dogs sat by my car , that is one day ill...

Considering that Radcliffe always seems to get the dregs of Bury MBC coffers, this park is a gem!

When we visited today there was a football match going on. What a cracking building they have here for getting changed in. I just hope it's as nice inside as it is out.

The two playgrounds are great, split nicely to reflect the age groups that they are intended to support. In both cases there are signs of council neglect, just like every other park under this council's control. Swings were missing on the older kids playground and possibly a roundabout judging from the silhouette that remains. It's only because of this that I've withheld that last star.

But all in all, a pretty decent public park with some really great ornamental features, which is why we like to call it the...

If you ever visit Radcliffe /Bury then you might want to visit this large Park with a wall entrance and car park before you wonder around the lush grounds filled with lovely colourful flowers and the smells that you get from them is just devine. I grew up in Radcliffe and this park has changed a lot since when I was younger as back then there were birds in averies and ducks walking freely, now there's only a small children's play area and a bowling green and a place to play football with goal posts and a very newly built tennis court that is locked up at night. It's a nice place to walk your dog or to sit and relax in on a...
