Oriel Glasfryn Gallery — Attraction in Caerwys

We have visited this beautiful gallery on a few occasions now and each time there are new things to see. Great that they support Welsh artists and craftspeople. The quality of work and the presentation is outstanding. The gallery is family run and very friendly and welcoming - they are happy to chat with you about the artwork or just let you quietly browse. And if you visit during exhibition season, you get to see inside the house, the stunning gardens and get delicious coffee and cake from the horse-box cafe. This lovely gallery only opened at Easter and I has rapidly become a great asset to Caerwys and the surrounding area. I revisited a few days ago to see the summer exhibition of over 50 Welsh artists. There were so many exhibits they spilled over into the beautiful home of the owners, Mr and Mrs Roberts. Dave Roberts is the most fantastic pastel artist specialising in landscapes of Wales and many of his paintings are on display in his gallery. He also holds pastel workshops for beginners...

Unique in North Wales in that all the exhibiting artists are Welsh. Some very interesting ceramics and excellent pastels by the owner. We'll worth a visit if you are into art and ceramics. We are now going to take my artist brother and his wife next time they visit us. Only slight downside is that it is quite small but the quality of the exhibits does go part way to making up for that.
