Visited here with some friends, as it was a halfway point for both of us. Free parking, the car park has a few spaces, but I would imagine it gets busy in the summer. There are lots of open fields and a park, where there would be a splash pad, unfortunately this was out of action the day we went, but I'm sure this will be fully usable in the warmer months. There are plenty of different climbing equipment, slides, zip wires, wooden areas for the kids to play on, they enjoyed playing for hours here! We then went on a walk around the edge of the park until we got to the stream, which had plenty of ducks and a sandy area near it with wooden poles to stand on, which was fun for them. The only downside, there is no café, but I think that's due to a nursery being situated near the front of the park. Well worth going...
Read moreOne of my favourite spots in Cambridge for a relaxing walk or picnic. Cherry Hinton Hall Park has that perfect mix of open green space, duck ponds, and big old trees that offer loads of shade on a hot day. There’s a small stream running through the park which gives it a really peaceful atmosphere, and if you like wildlife, you’ll often see ducks, moorhens, and even herons if you’re lucky.
The playground is brilliant for kids and there’s usually an ice cream van nearby on sunny weekends. There are plenty of benches and picnic tables dotted around, and it never feels too crowded even on busy days. It’s also a great place to come during the Cambridge Folk Festival, which completely transforms the area into something magical.
Definitely worth a visit whether you’re local or just...
Read moreRecently upgraded play area with lots of interesting play features made of wood including a large pirate ship.
In ‘normal’ times there is a shallow outdoor swimming pool right next to the play area.
Lots of green open spaces plus a bridge, small stream and duck pond. Over the bridge there is also a sand play area with log posts. Lots of zones in this park to keep little ones happy.
Public toilets in the park and quite often an cream van too.
Car park can be busy at the weekends and at peak times in the summer.
Parking is free (correct at the time of writing in July 2021).
On the main road (Cherry Hinton Road) near the entrance to the park is a small BP petrol station, with a Budgens and a Costa coffee machine where you can buy...
