Nice, relatively isolated spot. Some historical (Roman) attraction. A pleasant enough cafe behind the beach (though the coffee wasn't strong enough to defend itself). Quite good food and beer at the King Ethelbert pub - good job too, there's naff all else! The pub benefits from its captive market, but doesn't seek to exploit it - they make an effort to provide a friendly and pleasant place to eat and drink.    Read moreThis is a lovely and quiet beach although I think that is because itâs a trek from the car park (which is very expensive) especially when laden with cool bags and beach tents! Itâs shingle and seaweed which makes shoes a necessity for comfort. Lots of beach left when itâs high tide. No bins on this stretch so rubbish has to be lugged back to the car.
