Food was delicious and very reasonably priced. The staff engagement could be improved upon. When we arrived, we didn't notice where the high chairs were. We asked and were told they were in the seating area, as walking away, there was a massive burst of laughter from the staff behind us, it might not have been directed at us, however, me and friend felt a bit judged by our question. It was only until we left and discussed the situation that we realised we felt the same way. When ordering food, I was told to take a seat and everything would be brought over to the table. Our drinks and panini's came, however, our crisps and cake didn't. After finishing our panini's and waiting a little while longer, I ended up going to the till and asking when our cake and crisps were coming. 3 members of the team were behind the till talking as there were no customers to serve and I assumed they thought they have sorted all the orders. I raised that we hadn't received some of our order, instead of saying 'sorry, I'll sort that for you now', I was told to get the crisps myself and then had to remind the staff member of the cakes we had ordered. Myself and my friend felt a bit like an inconvenience which is a shame as the food was delicious! We both said the cake was the best chocolate orange cake we had ever had. We understand everyone has a bad day and this may have been the reason for the service we received. We will be returning in the summer and hopefully it will be different then. The cafe is a great bird watching spot, great for dogs, and it was nice to see a sign in the window welcoming breast...
Read more.A very nice cafe, close to the beach at Reculver. .Toilet facilities for everyone for free.
.Parking. There are plenty of parking spaces but very pricey, I paid £13,00 for five hours. .The ancient Reculver landmark not far from the carpark. .The restaurant has lots of hot and cold drinks, ice cream and cold drinks and ice cream for dogs and is dog friendly even in the sitting dining area. .Lots of seating on benches outside, although I think there is a need for a few more
.If you like crepe's,(pancakes)then try one as they are delicious, with various fillings, vegan, and vegetarian available options, too.
.A very good place to start a walk along the Saxon way which I really enjoyed and is very well looked after, and return for reviver of tea, coffee and a hot chocolate, which was really good and a cake of course!
It's a really great play area for kids to go on and have a picnic close by, too.
.Overall its a great improvement since my last visit...
Read moreWe stopped by here desperate for a drink after our long walk. Their HatHats latte was one of the best I’ve had in ages and I like my coffee so know a good one when I taste it. Their cakes offer a good selection and we chose a cinnamon roll/muffin and the raspberry slice. (Possibly not the correct names) They too were very tasty. They provide complimentary water 💦 and also sell ice creams and savoury food as well. The place was very clean and also sold frisbee and dog treat too. Even doggie poop bags and a tennis ball for the woof woof.. we were very impressed. Located next to the car park and toilets and a nice little park for the kids. There are seats outside in more than one direction if you like...
