Read moreWe visited years ago when there was an exhibition about the social effects of mining in mid Cornwall. You now have to book tickets online and were taken around by a knowledgeable local guide. It's a shame that when that generation is gone there will be very few who have experienced the industry around Camborne & Redruth mines. The EPAL engine is relatively new but quite impressive. It's a shame the old lift no longer works as that would make site more accessible. The impressive engine across the road appears no longer open. Will try King Edward Mine Museum again sometime that has a very impressive collection but now closed...
Read moreStrange parking arrangement for the museum! You are advised to park in Morrison's however, the whole museum is an interesting place with knowledgeable people. For a mine you don't get to go underground but history about Cornwall made up for it. It has a working engine house that you can park at. There is another museum type complex opposite this site. My advice is to park at the working engine house that you can see from the main road and take a 10 minute to the rest of the museum.
