Hatch Brook Waterfall — Attraction in Chorley

the actual postcode should be "PR6 8QX" and then you will find the passage to the waterfall on your right hand side opposite the houses through the woods. I don't know why google has the postcode as pr6 8qu. I searched a lot for its location coz the postcode on google takes u to the end of the passage which is just a mountain pass. i figured out myself after 2 trips and a lot of wandering. so the exact location of the waterfall is: as u turn onto WELLS LANE, houses will be on your left. and there will be a fence on your right. just past the fence, there is a passage going into the woods. follow that passage. be ready for your shoes to get dirty as the passage is like a bog. bit hard to find dry pass. lucky if the weather is dry for long enough. its roughly half kilometer from the road to the waterfall. wonder why they didn't paved it while they can pave around mountains just further up the road. after a short walk, u'll see waterfall which is obviously nothing compared to wales and scotland, but its good depending...

Not quite what I was expecting. I've seen many photos of this and was a little underwhelmed when I arrived. The path to the bottom is a little "not suitable for all" (you couldn't really take a pram or somebody who may struggle over rough, rocky ground). I went after a week of no rain, so the waterfall was running on a trickle. However going after rain you'd need a good pair of wellies or waterproof hiking boots as the path was muddy when I went, so couldn't imagine it when it's raining hard enough to put the waterfall in its fullest of glories. I didn't even bother with pictures as it just looked slimy and damp when I was there and wouldn't want to put people off.

I am sure that I just caught it at a bad time though, so I think it's well worth another trip down to it and will do so after good...

Not very accessible. Not wheelchair friendly. No parking unless by the lake. If you drive to the top where the waterfalls are its not convenient. Not great for paddling at all! Would I return? Sadly not. Bare in mind their is not waterfalls if its dry whether unfortunately. The photos look better than it actually was! No seating areas or nice places to sit and have a picnic. Unless by the lake which we sort of came across once back in the car! i would definitely head to the lake with a park area! The map never took us to this place so bare...
