From a long walk in the hills in the morning with group of people. I decided to have a good feed up at the The Cottage tea room on the 27th of September 2025 early afternoon. We'll where can I start the service was 5 star the staff all 10 out of 10. Was given the menu and decided to have the breakfast with extra items. What an excellent breakfast it was everything was purrrrrrrrrefect. Having the breakfast outside on the seating area was a great little area. I will say the bacon was just done right eggs were amazing and everything else scored 10 /10 . Finished off with a tea loaf which was so good . Nothing I could say anything bad about. With the breakfast I had a pot of tea shared with a good friend of mine which was just right even so good had another pot. After saying good bye to all the walkers myself and my good friend decided to stay longer. And went inside the tea room. And decided to relax on the comfortable sofa seats. While chatting to the owner decided I had to try the apple crumble and some rhubarb crumble with custard. Was given a steaming bowl of heaven it was. Fully recommend trying I was so impressed ๐ 10/10. Finished off with a coffee cafetiere. Left that to brew and was impressed with that too. My good friend stayed there for a good while till closing finishing off the well made coffee with hot milk. Iam sure the owner will remember me. I will definitely be back to explore the rest of the menu. I intially was going to sit outside, but I was concerned about leaving my bike unattended as I had no locking mechanism with me. The waitress informed me that there was a bike rack around the back of the property to store my bike, which was handy as this could be seen by the kitchen staff. The Cottage tea room is a cosy little place in which to stop for a bite to eat,it was very clean and had quite an extensive menu, however that would be worth checking on their website before going for something to eat,as I don't think they have the traditional 3 course meals etc; on offer, although I could be wrong!. I did notice there was a table reservation service. The room itself is quite small ,when I was there it was almost full at lunchtime,so again might be worthwhile booking beforehand. The village of Brinscall is situated in a beautiful part of Lancashire and has quite a few amenities to enjoy if you have a short stop or...
ย ย ย Read moreI have never been spoken to so aggressively and rudely than today in the tea room . After waiting for 40 mins for paninis I asked for them to take away , the young girl apologised for the delay as they had been very busy , I suggested in future if there was a long delay they told the customer so we knew and could perhaps order a sandwich which would be quicker , a lady from the kitchen flew through to the front saying we should have said if we were in a rush and she had orders before our to get out then said give her a refund , I will โ throw it all in the bin โ!! I said I donโt want a refund I want the food my little girl is hungry to which she stomped in to the kitchen left us stood there embarrassed and I. Shock at her behaviour.........
