Amazing, but very, very windy! Wrap up warm, folks because that is cold cold wind!!! Cafe is exorbitant with burgers priced at £9 each! Drinks expensive too. 2 x ice cream vans to keep the little ones happy, with £3.50 buying you a fancy choc-dipped waffle sprinkle cone with mr whippy ice cream, flake and strawberry syrup (the works!)!!! Public toilets nice and clean, handwashing facilities and hand sanitizer with social distancing. I couldn't see changing facilities but didn't check for them. Loads of benches on the sidewalk, and rock pools for the kids to play in...

The promenade is pleasant for a walk, run or cycle. But it is a very busy place, especially at the weekend. I would avoid going onto the beach, or if you do to wash hand well before you eat. It is VERY polluted along this stretch of beach. There is a cafe here but you should avoid it as the guy who owns it is very unfriendly and the prices are sky high. Further along in Crammond there is a pub and cafe that are much nicer and if you walk further there is another place that is also nice. Overall it is ok but you do need to watch the pollution, especially with...

From Ghengis Khan come drink from the cup of destruction to Afghanistan, from the beaches of Normandy to Hacksaw ridge, from bridge over troubled waters to water under the bridge, is false testimony where P.T.S.D is concerned, from constant combat awareness hyper vigilance to never switching off seeking positive energy distractions recently found at silverknowes and Portobello shorelines whilst pondering the philosophy of footprints in the sand to Luke 15 , I give thanks for brief interludes where my Akita service dog call sign "Angel" is relaxed , chilled and...

Beautiful place to walk. You should come here on weekends to relax. It is always windy so take your jacket on. The sea is blue and you can walk or run around the beach. There is also a beach cafe where you can take a coffee to go. This is pure nature and I love this silent walks. You will meet always people here which also want to take fresh air. I would recommend.this place. its not a tourist hotspot but a guide for local people. Come.here and.enjoy a Sunday afternoon walk.

OK, it may have been the hottest September day for years, but the walk from one side of Silverknowes beach to the River Almond estuary in Cramond was lovely. Families, walkers and cyclists were all out enjoying the day. Throwing in a late afternoon walk over the causeway to Cramond Island was unplanned but different, and very enjoyable. A few people seemed nervous but the path is fine…as long as the tide is out!
