Silverknowes Beach — Attraction in City of Edinburgh

Amazing, but very, very windy! Wrap up warm, folks because that is cold cold wind!!! Cafe is exorbitant with burgers priced at £9 each! Drinks expensive too. 2 x ice cream vans to keep the little ones happy, with £3.50 buying you a fancy choc-dipped waffle sprinkle cone with mr whippy ice cream, flake and strawberry syrup (the works!)!!! Public toilets nice and clean, handwashing facilities and hand sanitizer with social distancing. I couldn't see changing facilities but didn't check for them. Loads of benches on the sidewalk, and rock pools for the kids to play in...

The promenade is pleasant for a walk, run or cycle. But it is a very busy place, especially at the weekend. I would avoid going onto the beach, or if you do to wash hand well before you eat. It is VERY polluted along this stretch of beach. There is a cafe here but you should avoid it as the guy who owns it is very unfriendly and the prices are sky high. Further along in Crammond there is a pub and cafe that are much nicer and if you walk further there is another place that is also nice.
