Forget the ordinary and be prepared for the extraordinary. This has to be by far the best visit to a cave or mine I've ever made. Not the usual sanitised version with well lit passages and clever use of lighting but rather a rather more authentic experience, that starts with the donning of a hard hat and battery pack for your head torch. You don't go through the ticket office and straight into the mine either. Rather a short walk up the side of the hill on a rough path to the mine entrance which after several days of heavy rain had its own water fall cascading over the entrance. A slight exaggeration but after a quick shower you're in and into the darkness with only your head torch for light. Glad of the wellies we were provided with as we waded through several inches of water in a couple of the tunnels. Tim the guide is excellent, wanting to know what you are interested in and tailoring his information and to some extent the route that you take accordingly. Be prepared to learn how to use the carabinas you've been provided with to attach to the ropes fixed to the walls in strategic places to negotiate narrow ledges and in negotiating some of the steeper areas in the chambers as you explore. This experience is possibly not for everyone, but going with a friend who like me is over sixty whilst our wives visited King Arthur's Labyrinth my advice would be to give it ago and give in to your sense of adventure, you won't be...

Me and my partner Laura love Wales and exploring, so we saw this and having done the "PG" version as Tim said with the King Arthur experience we very much looked forward to the full mine adventure. We had a wonderful guide named Tim who was an awesome chap, knew his stuff and definitely a fantastic character with a unique background. It was just me, my partner and Tim, we felt completely easy and safe with him, everything was explained so clearly and very easy to understand. Was catered to our wants and needs and the whole experience felt like it was a personal adventure for just us both. He took the time to show us everything that we could see due to the excessive rain, any questions we had he fully answered and it was a brilliant experience. The size and scale of this mine was unbelievable as well, the history and the preservation of this mine is incredible. Our favourite mine adventure that we have completed out of the ones we have done in Wales. Highly recommend this to anyone with a love of history or even just for great fun, Tim was absolutely brilliant 10/10 and we are most certainly looking to come back again and see the...

Situated within its own little village with a cafe craft shops, gin distillery and ice cream shop it’s got everything you need to start your day here. We pre booked our tickets and on arrival it’s the last building in the complex you book in at. (Number 11 I think ) staff very friendly and informative health and safety brief and a signature you’re then ready for the experience. Our guide today was Kelly she got us our hard hats lights and offered wellies for my niece who was 8 definitely recommend going in walking boots or wellies as it’s a little wet inside. I wore shorts and didn’t find it to cold but I do all year round so if you’re a little sensitive to the cold put some pants on. Short walk over the road and up the hill and you arrive at the entrance the tour was great very informative and was made even better by our guide Kelly she has loads of information that she tells you and answered all the questions from our group, she answered all questions and then added more info on the back of it fantastic guide and deserves recognition for her work great day had by all of us and definitely recommended....
