EDIT: Despite what the reply says below, no one from Holywell Bay Golf has tried to contact me regarding this matter and I’ve received no email.
Paid to play the Par 3 course and was notified after arriving and signing in that there was a members only competition on but that I would be allowed to play through as I was on my own. After 30 minutes to play the first two holes I was told by a group of four golfers that they were not allowed to let me through due to competition rules and there was 8 more groups of four in front of them anyway.
The clubhouse could not offer me a refund or an alternative time to come back and said the only way to have either was to contact them via email? It’s now 10 days since I sent the email and have had no reply and obviously my holiday has now finished so can’t go back and play again.

Read moreThis place is great for golfers of all abilities. The pitch and putt course must be amongst the best anywhere, wending its way through the sandhills overlooking the bay. The Par Three course is a good test of all your shots, and usually gives you the opportunity to see how you can play in the wind. If you shoot under 70 you deserve a pasty. The views are, quite honestly, superb and on a sunny day you could be at Augusta! Although visitors are welcome throughout the year, the best way to play is to become a member - for just over £6 per week, payable monthly or annually, you get unlimited access to both courses. Ground staff and the clubhouse staff are as friendly as you could wish - you may well see the owner of the whole complex out there cutting the grass! What are you...
