EDIT: Despite what the reply says below, no one from Holywell Bay Golf has tried to contact me regarding this matter and I’ve received no email.

Paid to play the Par 3 course and was notified after arriving and signing in that there was a members only competition on but that I would be allowed to play through as I was on my own. After 30 minutes to play the first two holes I was told by a group of four golfers that they were not allowed to let me through due to competition rules and there was 8 more groups of four in front of them anyway.

The clubhouse could not offer me a refund or an alternative time to come back and said the only way to have either was to contact them via email? It’s now 10 days since I sent the email and have had no reply and obviously my holiday has now finished so can’t go back and play again.

Quick enough to take payment but no response when...

Ahh…Holywell Bay!!! That’s a slice of the Cornish ‘Living the dream’ philosophy for one and all ! Whoever you are whatever your ability to play golf or whacky sticks as I prefer to call it . From the beautiful 3 par 18 the 18 pitch&putt (poll probably the county’s/country’s best)! & finally the recently updated crazy golf, happiness guaranteed for one & all !!! Then its the 19th @ Woodys. Sup a chilled pint of Rattler whilst eating some great food & soaking up Cornwalls stunning vistas and, of course, soaking up the Cornish sun & shine!!!All of this is made all the better with exceptional, mindful hospitality!! There you’ll find Claire(head girl) with excellent knowledge of all able to edify your every request for the best experience!!! Including private functions @ Woodys…to be fair just ask for Claire...

This place is great for golfers of all abilities. The pitch and putt course must be amongst the best anywhere, wending its way through the sandhills overlooking the bay. The Par Three course is a good test of all your shots, and usually gives you the opportunity to see how you can play in the wind. If you shoot under 70 you deserve a pasty. The views are, quite honestly, superb and on a sunny day you could be at Augusta! Although visitors are welcome throughout the year, the best way to play is to become a member - for just over £6 per week, payable monthly or annually, you get unlimited access to both courses. Ground staff and the clubhouse staff are as friendly as you could wish - you may well see the owner of the whole complex out there cutting the grass! What are you...

We’re not golfers! But we had a great time. I’ve been twice and played the pitch and putt then tried the par 3 which for our skill set was a tad ambitious so swapped back to pitch and putt which has less obstacles so from a complete novice prospective we played 18holes it takes around 2-3 hours costs £60 and gets the kids out for a walk. The scenery is superb it’s quite exposed so a wind jacket is advisable on windy days even if it feels fine when your out there rather have than not need… there is also a crazy gold here, bar, toilets, plenty of parking too. If your visiting Cornwall or live here (as we do) it’s a good way to spend some time and get these pesky kids away from electronics if only for a few hours your see a different side to them they become… human again.

One of the best pitch and putts in the country. Love playing this every year on my holiday to Cornwall. Beautiful views of the bay and surrounding area as you play. Very well kept and maintained. Can bring your own clubs or borrow some if you need to. Decent pricing considering how large and high quality it is. A bit to long and difficult for absolute beginners, but a very enjoyable play to get more used to playing. Only downsides are that the weather very much affects how you can play as it can get very windy and exposed, and my dad always beats me. Couldn't recommend more.

Best pitch & putt I have ever played, greens were immaculate. 18th hole was especially great fun. Staff said we'd lose balls out there but proudly, three of us playing, not one! Came back and played the par 3 a few days later, equally well maintained but definitely harder. Pitch & Putt is the more interesting course ( both have great views) and even us bad players can have a few good holes :-) (reasonable priced too, £10 pp for pitch & putt, bargain)
