Holywell Beach Bar — Restaurant in England

Wow….. What an incredibly amazing place, right on the picturesque Holywell Beach!!! I cannot believe we were lucky enough to stay here. Every element of our experience here was flawless. The team and the service were absolutely outstanding, so naturally friendly. I am a manager in the food and leisure industry and I find us to be the harshest critics, always looking for the flaws but here there were ZERO. Whether in the coffee shop, the bar or the garden the service is outstanding and not just one or two of the team, every single member of the team were just perfect in every interaction. The food was another level epic, the breakfast was of such high quality you could tell that the best ingredients were used and the burgers seemed homemade and huge!!! So so tasty. Every meal we ate was stunning!! We stayed upstairs in one room and our parents stayed in another and we were blown away by the standards, so well presented with perfect beachside decor, fabulous beach views, sky tv inclusive of all the channels. The beds were super comfy, thick super soft towels and all the little luxuries that make a stay away so pleasant. The only feedback would be a little mini fridge would be perfect to put your milk in after a day on the beach to a nice cup of tea in your room or somewhere to put the kids yogurts and bits. There were so many team we didn’t get everyone’s names but the standouts that we had most interactions with were Kat, Kate and Marie….. Our 4 year old took to Kate and she made so much effort playing hide and seek with her, fabulous and super friendly.. The silent cinema was so good for our daughter, a chance to kick back with a beer while she had an ice cream. We even got free rum and gin samples one night. In a nutshell The Holywell Beach Bar is that perfect place where nothing is too much trouble and everything is catered for. After a wet walk on Holywell beach, me, my wife, baby and dog took shelter and a needed break to grab some food before or walk home.

The atmosphere was instantly relaxed and welcoming with staff greeting us as we entered. We first began our break with some coffee and cake which were great and reasonably priced considering the location. I believe I was served by Simon - big shout out to you sir! In the short time he served me, he made it feel like we were old friends catching up. He could also see I was rather wet from the rain and had a baby in a carrier on my front and generously offered to bring our order to our table. A little gesture that speaks volumes of how great the customer service is. He also had a keen eye for nice bucket hats 😄

After finishing our coffee and cakes, we then had 2 jacket potatoes. Again, well priced given the location. The food was cooked well, served hot and tasted great especially the home made chilli. As we were finished, I believe Jake came to clear our table. He interacted with our baby daughter and was very attentive throughout our visit.

We were very impressed by our experience and would love to see the atmosphere on a day with a bit more sun so are keen to come back one day soon!

Bad food, and EVEN worse service! Firstly the food was poor, and way too overpriced. we each spent nearly £20 on a burger and a couple of chips splattered onto a tray, and didn't even get given plates for our food! secondly, the staff were rude and unbothered. One of our group members' meals didn't get brought out, and he had to go and order it again. And when we asked to have the receipt printed, they were all out of paper. They offered to email it to us but were unable to actually do so. when we went up and asked them again, they then sent it to us, but gave us the bill of a different table. we had to resort to a calculator and a menu to work out how much everyone owed the person that paid for the food, we did it this way as they were unable to split it for us.
