From the outside this place looks like an absolute gem with a thatched roof and pleasant interior.

Positives: Friendly staff that were accommodating on fitting us in on the same day Prompt service Pint of Tribute was at right temperature and kept well Seafood chowder was really nice and full of seafood!

Opportunities: Poor overall menu for varied choice (carbs and more carbs) Don’t mind carbs though if the chips are decent - unfortunately think they were LIDL’s own chips deep fried. Burger wasn’t at all seasoned and could maybe have done with some relish to go with the bacon and cheese…

Can tell the Chef can cook because the chowder was really good, however it seems like quantity over quality which I’m sure he can produce.

Menu and chef just need the spark back and get some ‘proper homemade pub grub’ on the plate and this place could really be booming, even...

Been here for an evening meal the last few times we’ve been away, but today the food wasn’t up to standard. The bar maid and landlord were lovely but the food wasn’t up to standard. The onion rings tasted like pure fat and were soggy. The beef burger was basically mince meat, as it had no consistency of a burger what so ever. If my partner had picked it up it would have all fallen over the floor. The chips tasted like they had been fried hours before and quickly refried and some just tasted horrible. To finish all this off, it’s very poor not having a table check when the pub was basically empty. This pub is in a lovely location but needs some improvement. We left very quickly as we were really unhappy...

On holiday in West Pentire for a week we had really struggled to eat out. We had been relying on takeaways but had had ridiculously long waits even with them. When I phoned the Treguth Inn, just around the corner in Holywell, to see if they had any space later in the week I was really chuffed to hear a pleasant lady say 'when would you like to come'. We booked for 7 (all family) for the Thursday. We arrived to a pleasant welcome , our table ready for us, drinks orders taken straight away and food orders soon afterwards.
